The MitD's disappearing act (if indeed it was him) is oddly reminiscent of his conversation with Tsukiko
in this strip. (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0543.html)

Was it him? If so, how? Wish/Miracle as an SLA? Levels of Archmage/Hierophant to turn teleport into ranged spells? (I'm leaning towards Wish myself.) One thing's for sure, if Tsukiko saw that her hair would fall right out :smalleek:

Credit goes to los olvidados in the discussion thread for this amazing catch.

It is a fantastic catch, though.

i dont think it was a wish. if im remembering it right, you have to cast the spell an then formulating your wish loud and clear, beginning with the words "i wish...".

its more likely, that it was a planeshift spell. there are some monsters in the book who can cast these. :smallconfused:

Spell-Like-Abilities don't work the same way spells do, though. There are no verbal or somatic components. As far as I know, you just will it to happen.

The problem is that Planeshift requires touching, and Wish does not. Secondly, as Dork Lord said, SLAs can be activated just by willing them to occur.

Hey, at least *I* credited LO for it. :smalltongue:

I just don't think the MitD is an outsider though (especially not a Pit Fiend, as has been posited in the thread you linked.) They literally are their alignment, but he's far too innocent and open to new things.

Outsiders also have a lot of charisma, and he clearly... doesn't.

Other theory:

Read this. (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0299.html)
He obviously ate 18 boxes of mallomars and has become a level 30cleric.

Of course I'm not being serious.
