Silvery sparkles hang in the air, weaving incredible patterns of ethereal beauty. They seem to glow very faintly with their own light, with subtle colors that lie hanging in the air for a moment before dissipating.
Stardust motes are birthed in the heart of novas or when thaumaturgic meteorites break up. The pieces all seek others of their kind for company in the bleak spaces of the ether. As such, it may take swarms billions of years to form a true swarm. Though possessing only the most minimal intelligence they are incredibly curious and playful, though their games are very rarely perceived as such.
Combat
A stardust swarm rarely attacks, instead they surround others to examine them and dance for them, never realizing that what they do is harmful and even deadly. Only if greatly harmed do they realize their danger and then focus on the one that caused the deaths, lifting them high into the air before dropping them flat.
A stardust swarm's attack is treated as starmetal for the purpose of overcoming damage reduction.
Dazzling (Ex): Those that occupy a stardust swarm must succeed on a DC 24 fortitude save or be Dazzled for as long as they remain within and for 1d4 minutes afterward. The save DC is Con based.
Energy Immunity (Ex): Stardust swarms are immune to all forms of energy.
Sky Children (Su): A stardust swarm is capable of levitating anything that occupies their space at the beginning of their turn. While levitating another, the swarm may only move at their base speed, though cannot use the Run or Sprint action. To continue levitating, the subject must remain in their space.
Star Sickness (Ex): A stardust swarm is faintly radioactive, and deals 1 additional point of damage. This damage cannot be healed naturally or magically. To heal this damage they must first have a Remove Disease spell cast upon them or be treated with a DC 30 Heal check for a week. Once this has been done they can then be healed or heal on their own. This is not a true disease and can be contracted by those normally immune.
