Well, you make an excellent point, but there is an area you've neglected. To elaborate: WOOOHOOYEAAAHWHO'SYERDADDY.

I include this purely for the sake of completeness.

My compulsory education finishes on the 23rd June (last exam), but I don't get my results until 27th August. Then I'm going back for 6th form.

I'm from the U.S., so my obligatory response is "what the hell is 6th form"?

Well, a forum is what were in right now, and 6th is what comes after 5th, so...

....

He's in an online course where everything revolves around the number that comes after five!

Yes, I'm joking. I have no idea what 6th form is.

2 years of optional education from the age of 16 to 18.
British compulsory education ends at 16.
It's another term for Year 12 and Year 13.
As an alternative to 6th form, we can choose College (Different to your college I think). They provide the same amount of education, although College is more for the arts and hands on learning, while 6th form is more for the academic side of things.

One week left (unless I fail/have failed my exams horribly, in which case I would be in a lot of trouble because the courses will have changed).

As an alternative to 6th form, we can choose College (Different to your college I think).Ah this one is a knotty one. A College is an educational establishment. In the UK this is usually used in reference to a College of Further Education (NOTE Further, not Higher). In the US it is usually used to refer to a College of a University. But British Universities also have Colleges, and there are US establishments that fill a very similar role to Colleges of Further Education, Community Colleges. (They are not identical however)

*looks up from his job in the real world (tm)* Hmm? Whassat? Hey, you kids, get off my lawn!! :smallwink:

Then again, I work AT a university, so I suppose things do change a LITTLE for summer on my end. But I still have to show up. :smallconfused: (Then again, I don't have homework and get to sometimes tell faculty what to do! ...Not that they listen. It's like herding cats, I tells ya.)

I have one final exam. It is tomorrow. It should be easy.

School is at -9 and bleeding now. Tomorrow...I win.

I have on next Thursday (18th) and one the Tuesday after that (23rd). Then I don't have to go back until results (27th August).
Then I've got 6th form induction day (4th September) :smallsigh:

Well, my 10 year high school reunion is in 2 weeks...

I've been out of college for about 6 years now too. (although I forget exactly what I graduated, we did trimesters and I didn't do a normal schedule).

Ahh, school. Over. Exams done, practical jokes played, shirt signed, two and a half months of doing sod all before college ; enrolment starts on the 28th August, though I get my results on the 27th...so I have one day to panic.

No point worrying yet though, eh.

I've finished my exams but I'm back in College to do work for A2 and having been in three days I've already got loads of work for all four of my subjects. Including Geography courework(boo!) and Film coursework(Yay! but only because I get to study Studio Ghibli films).

If you children think school is hard try teaching. I have never been so happy for a school year to end in my life!

I have several relatives who are or have been teachers. From what I've seen, I think I can safely say that I'm never becoming a teacher.

Silly northern hemisphere people with your graduating school in May or June, we graduate in November or December. Summer vacation lasts from December to February. It feels so strange.

I just graduated.... 3 hours ago. It was intresting, a lot of really bad singing( "I believe I can try....![we were really, really horrible]) and some sappy speaches..('here at Prospect Seirra we're really into Heart, Mind and Community...*shivers*) anyway... it's good to be out of middle school. We had an "intresting party" with a bad DJ and some sad looking food and a large amount of very watered down punch. Looking back on what I've written... yes, I'm cynical... but it's true. Still I had fun... High School here I come!

You people and your getting summer before me. :smallannoyed: :smallwink: :smalltongue:
