Combat:

The Prey is a bird that is a cross between an owl and a vulture - it preys on both the living and the dead. Although they are solitary hunters, a pair often work together to take down a larger creature or group than one itself could not handle. They move silently until the best moment, then swoop down and chase the opponent into open spaces if possible, attacking them with their slow prey and flyby attacks.
Preys speak Sylvan.
Slow Prey (Su): The Prey’s favoured tactic is to attack with his peak, biting and injecting a fluid that functions like lactic acid. It reduces the victim’s speed by 10 ft., and allows it to make only a single Standard or Move action per turn, but not both. Fortitude DC 17 negates. The DC save is Constitution-based.
Skills: *Prey have a +8 racial bonus on Move Silently checks when in flight.


What do you think? I reckon the CR is right. What would you change or adjust?

Well for one thing, I'd fix that typo on the first line.

"Bob... you've got a vulture-owl-thing on your shoulder..."
"Shut up, it's praying!"
