Since he pretty much (aside from Oh Buddy Roy) always sings the exact same thing. "action, action, action, action etc." To what melody do you sing his music? Or if there's an intended melody, does anyone know what it is?

Row row row your boat, except in the case of strip 41 (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0041.html)

Well done sir! A definite likelihood. Unless Rich has specifically said so before haha, then definite.

Out of curiosity I'm pretty sure the tune in 41 is based on something also, but I can't figure out what. Anyone have any ideas?

There are a couple in 41(unless anyone can tell what song he's singing in the 5th panel) Celebration by Kool & the Gang, and We Will Rock You by Queen.

Ah, that must have been what threw me, I was trying to think of one song that fit. Thanks.

Here's how I think of it:

Resist, resist, resistthe deadlypoison.

More like a chant thing than song...

Me too. That's probably why it's never very successful - his dirge for Roy brought down the house, but he's usually not very good at the tune part. Right?

I like it, except where Elan uses four repetitions of the verb instead of the three in "Row, Row, Row Your Boat", such as in strip 4 (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0004.html)

"Camptown Ladies Sing this Song" would work, if you drop the "Doo-Dah" bits, and it has an appropriate level of mindless cheerfulness.

Good point.

I realize that it's probably wrong, and a bit too sophisticated for Elan, but I always imagined the drinking song from The Student Prince (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vbLl2C3ChYY).

The first three repetitions go up the scale, then the fourth is the same level as the second, and the rest of the sentence sounds like something out of a TV commercial.

I agree with the previous poster in that I picture it as when he repeats the word at the start it goes gradually up the cale, then the 4th is the same as the second and I can't really explain what the rest rounds like without using actual musical notes, but the rest uses prett ymuch the first 3 in a different order, with the last beat being one note higher than the rest.
