The teaser for the second game is out. It's set in Las Vegas with a new hero, Chuck Greene. I'm personally sad to see Frank go but it's the designer's decision. Maybe he'll make a special appearance.

Both trailers posted there for your viewing pleasure. The rumors floating around sound like there's been a bunch of changes. They're tweaking the engine so that you can have 6000 zombies on screen at once and also multi-player.

I'm pretty excited about this game. The first one was a classic and so much fun if you just needed to vent out some anger. This one looks like it's going to be a bit darker. I also feel that it might be more difficult, especially if they're going to be having 6000 zombies being rendered at once.

Any thoughts on Dead Rising 2? Any fond memories from the first one (killing cultists with jewels for instance)?

I hope they include more saves in the sequel and dispense with that 'play the game all over again' insanity.

I hope they get rid of the Otis character. I could deal with fewer save spots if I didn't have to answer Otis in the middle of a boss battle...

Frank is dead people.
If there's any special appearance being made it's as a zombie.

Screw off Otis!!! ARGH, that guy was aggravating! :smallfurious:

In any case, DR2 looks to be alright. It's over the top though, too much so. Dead Rising 1 was over-the-top, but they didn't strap chainsaws to motorcycles and charge into battle. It just seems... yeaaaaaaah. >_< It'll probably be decently fun though. :smallwink:

Or he's off covering wars, you know.

****ing Otis. (http://www.vgcats.com/comics/?strip_id=205)

You know, if he was using a radio that you could just listen to instead of a stupid cellphone you actually have to answer ... or he didn't bawl you for hanging up ono him ...

After some of the stuff he pulls off in Dead Rising, disembowelling people, suplexes, handling any weaponry...
Frank ain't covering wars.
He's winning them.
Yeeeaaaaah...

That sums up all me feelings on Otis.

Franks off covering wars in the White Armani suit, sun glasses, and some nice black shoes. *whistles*

White? WHITE? He's wearing the yellow one, tricked out in some awesome red hair and specs. That's how Frank rolls, a katana in one hand, coffee creamer in the other.

I rage quit Dead rising 1 because of the lack of save points and an auto save feature. I mean come on is this like the 1 game without it that has come out in the last 5 years? If the sequel lacks it I doubt I will be purchasing or renting this one.

Ah, yes, the disemboweling... I remember that as the only way I could actually kill spec-ops... :smallamused:

*ahem* Anyway, I hope that

1) Mannequin torsos still do 1-hit kills on zombies (yes, they actually tended to)
and/or
2) Psychopaths can actually be killed. At all.

Also, I wouldn't mind either

A) There is no time limit any more (here's hoping)
or
B) There is a lot more time to do things.

Also, there's a cart filled with pointy objects that the supermarket keeper touts. That thing's pretty... Unorthodox...

That final battle in the first one was crazy. But it did give me a lot of jump-stomp practice...

It doesn't look anything like a cell phone though. It looks like a two way walkie-talkie.

It was a walkie talkie.

I'm personally excited about Dead Rising 2. I think the Strip (or a version of it) would make a great place for this kind of game, allowing the player to do all of the things that were in the first, but more. And as far as chainsaw-motorcycles go, I'm reasonably sure you can see a stunt show in Vegas involving both motorcycles and chainsaws (or could, at one point). ]

And honestly, I thought the game's difficulty, time limit, and save feature were part of the novelty. Dead Rising isn't a game you're expected to win, it's one where you hope to survive.
