What do you think will happen on the evilest of comics?

Will something special actually happen, or will it be like comic 100?

Roy will wake up from his terrible nightmare about some sorcerer with a fake sounding name who wants to open gates to hell or something. At that point the REAL story of OOTS starts, i.e. Roy is a student at a school for wizards on modern Earth. He received a lightning shaped scar when an evil bla bla bla I forgot where I was going with this.

Maybe Roy will be resurrected in the next comic (664), they do a closing pose in 665, and 666 starts a new story arc where we finally see where Haley's father is being held (emphasis on the apocalyptic imagery and the hellish dungeon).

Actually, a few years ago it was announced that the "666" thing is a mistranslation, and the oldest known copy of the new testament gives the devil's number as being 616.

In other words, we've already had the big momentous strip o' evil, quite appropriately named, too. The OotSthealogical debates can now begin. Is Belkar that antichrist or is it just that Crystal was the anti-Haley (and does that mean Haley is the messiah?)

I wrote a similar thread to this except this one is worded more elegantly and doesn't mention satanism like mine did.

I'd say that The Giant will probably make some sort of small side-joke in one of the panels for people searching for it.

This. Rich doesn't pay a whole lot of homage to any real religions except in the case of a select few polytheistic pantheons, and their real world counterparts have long since passed into obsolescence.

I would be very surprised to see any kind of "mark of the beast" acknowledgment for #666. Possibly even a bit disappointed.

With all the speculation going on about it, I bet it will be several panels in a row of Durkon continuing to chant "resurrection," Then someone else will say, "I bet everyone was expecting something special for Strip # 666" and a third person (probably Belkar) will say "This is worst running joke we've ever done."

I do not, however, believe that he plans each individual strip by the number---ESPECIALLY because of the "special" strips that are thrown in there at times. While it would certainly be his prerogative to do whatever he wanted to do with it and make it into something special as he so chose, the continued speculation about this after SIX HUNDRED STRIPS and numerous milestones along the way---few (if any?) of which have been meaningfully celebrated---is mind boggling to me.

Agreed, but if he decided he REALLY hated all the forum talk/speculation about one character or another, he'd probably adapt it so that character got killed and soul binded immediately.
