It's not his fault that Xykon and Redcloak are saving him up for the final battle is it?:smallconfused:

I think he's implying that he'll be bringing out the MiTD soon.

"Why is Xykon berating the MitD for not doing anything?"

It's a joke. Check the previous strip.

Because the creature in the darkness didn't prevent O-Chul and Vaarsuvius from losing Xykon's phylactery and escaping. Duh.

Unfair? Hypocritical, considering Xykon's the primary person to insist on the creature remaining in the darkness? Whatever is your point?

Would "because it's there" as the answer to your question puzzle you less? It's equally as true, I think.

It's a joke. Xykon's last sentence implies that the Monster in the Dark has just been sleeping and doing nothing meaningful, but if you look at the previous strip the Monster has been doing a lot more than Xykon realizes.

I think that Xykon's grumpy (putting it lightly) and wants stuff to get DONE. So seeing the MitD, who hasn't done much to help Team Evil (even if it was at Xykon's request) Xykon's going to rant about it.

Ironically, if Xykon just kept him under the umbrella instead of in the box the MitD could have had a much larger impact on the battle.

Soon.Cough Cough

i'd like to know now please :smallwink:

back on topic, i'd say xykon is so pissed off that he's lashing out at everyone who is in the vicinity of his ranting. haven't you ever been that upset about anything?

Knock off the Soon stuff or I will level the place.

I think Xykon realised some time ago that the MitD is fairly useless, even before they went into Dorukan's dungeon--the early strips when he was treating him as his secret weapon are the odd ones out here, I think. Certainly he considered the monster so useless by the time they approached Azure City that he assigned it to guard Miko, purely on the assumption that this would be the most efficient way to help her escape!

Leave this place... Soon?

Be assured, Tredrick, that we will soon stop the Soon stuff.

Why, we might knock of sooner then you think, altough I wonder what Soon would have to say about that, if we resseruct Soon, we could find out very soon (in around 10 minutes)

Oh and I think we will find out wether or not the comment from Xykon is a joke or not very soon.

Umm...Because Xykon is a jerk?

He has been killing people since forever and you are surprised he is a hypocrite?

Bibliomancer
2009-06-17, 03:32 PM
Ah..but only normal people are jerks. Jerks with power become 'anti-heroes' or 'villains' depending on how many corpses they leave behind. As far as I can tell, an average of less then one corpse per day unrelated to self-defense equals anti-hero.

Well, it's the classical "Evil guy rage that kills innocent evil minions and innocent evil structures"

Poor Xykon, it's end comes!

Awesome. If this place gains a level, I'll get more spells.

But when a place is leveled, that usually mean it loses one or more levels, so wouldn't you lose spells?

Following Xykon's orders to remain concealed until told to reveal himself wouldn't keep MitD from shouting a warning that O-Chul was escaping.

There is a difference between Soon Kim and the preposition soon, which is a reference to time.

As for Xykon, he has decided to stop fooling around and get on with his plans, and the MitD would be a tool in those plans unless something else develops with MitD

Behold, the King of Nowhere is soon to come

The bodily functions of the King of Nowhere are really inappropriate topics for a public forum like this.

I'm sure Soon might get angry about this, but I believe this too shall soon pass.
