I was disappointed to find that in 3.5 Fairy Dragons are not True Dragons (with the full 12 Age Catagories and etc), so this is me fixing it. I am posting in this 1/4 finished form because the computer it is stored on may become increasingly hard to access.

True Faerie Dragons lack both sorcerer style spell-casting and Frightful Presence

My thinking with the Protection from Law and Magic Circle against law was that the ability to defend itself from Charm and Domination fit with living among fae.
Can probably fill in any weak spots in the SLA progression with SNA's.

I thought the Tome of Horrors had a full version of the fairy dragon. It was spelled "faerie dragon".

Ok, but unless you mean "Tomb of Horrors" (which I actually doubt) I have not even heard of that work. Thus I may proceed regardless...

The Tome of Horrors is not official material, and is pretty much homebrew, meaning that Draco is perfectly fine in making another adaptation. :smallcool:

Personally, I'm curious as to where I can get a copy of the Tome of Horrors though, lots of folk seem to be referencing it recently.

Problem I see is that Fairies dont age physically that much in Faerie. I think you'd have a number of class levels on top of an adult faerie dragon of great age.

Fairy dragons live mostly in wooded areas on the prime-material plane last I checked...

Actually, the Tome of Horrors is by Necromacer Games. Everything in it is OGL and they had special permisison from WotC to update all the monsters from 2e D&D that were published in the 2e Monster Manuals and 2e Fiend Folio that they (WotC) weren't going to convert . So, you get real gems like the al-miraj, coffer corpse, mobat, froghemoth, leprechaun and so forth.

Here's a quote from the book:

"We worked directly with Wizards of the Coast to make sure that no monster in this book (well, only a handful) would be included in a later Wizards of the Coast product. So, you can rest assured that the contents of this book will not be superceded by any later “official” book."

It may not be published by WotC, but those monsters are as official as you are going to find. Plus, it has things like the Dire Creature Template, which someone is always looking for. I keep referring people to the free pdf template on Necromancer's website.

You can buy the Revised Tome of Horrors online for fairly cheap (it's only available in pdf form) but its updated to 3.5. Currently it's [B]$7.99 here: http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/product_info.php?products_id=3019

The best thing is that the all the book essentially 100% open game content. It's one of the better monster books and Pathfinder relies on it heavily. Also, they made an effort to make the OGL user friendly and it show exactly how to use and cite to it to help other gaming companies.

The idea was that any publishing company could use these monsters in their modules rather than spending time recreating [and often badly] the same monster. That pretty much fell on dead ears until Pathfinder started relying on them. Paizo tends to use the Revised Tome of Horrors and Green Ronin's Advanced Bestiary to create new versions of monsters for their Adventure Paths. AP is still under OGL for one more month before Paizo changes over to their own Pathfinder rules.

For the recoord, I much prefer Tome of Horrors Faerie Dragron to the one in the Draconomicon. They even kept most of the text from the original article in Dragon Magazine.

Also, I found this: http://www.angelfire.com/d20/necropolis/FaerieDragon.pdf

A Fairy Dragon that lives its life on the prime material is certainly a fine monster - no criticism meant.

Bumping because I found a more recent update and cut-pasted it in. Still probably a work in progress, but having it up here lets me find it where-ever I am logging in from.

I really like this. Very few homebrewers go through all the trouble of making full dragons. So it is refreshing to find a kindred spirit in this area. Nice job, as always, DD.

This is very impressive. Kudos on giving the faerie dragon its due. The smaller ones,[wyrmlings especially, remind me of the "pocket dragons" figurines by Real Musgrave. A nest of these could be interesting.
