So, if you look here (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0543.html) you will see that the MitD is somewhat aware of its ability to affect reality. I was just reading back through these comics and found this and it turned a light on in my head! Sort of backs up the whole Wish as a SLA view of the MitD.

Alot of people have been pointing to that comic as forshadowing, less general understanding of how it is that MitD was supposed to teleport O-Chul away, although I could see it as such.

Probably, though, it's just forshadowing. :smalltongue:

A more specific thread title would be useful. "Now this is interesting" is completely nondescript.

I chalk that up as more of the MiTD's naiveté. I don't think he's aware of whatever power he had that mad O-Chul and V able to escape. In #661, he doesn't seem aware at all that he did anything.

This may sound like a contradiction but I think he's not aware that he has the power specifically but i think he's used to having what he wants just fall from the sky for him when he really reaaaaaly wants it.

I think I will vote the two are unrelated. As noted, MitD forgot what he had done as soon as he had done it, if he ever realized he had done anything. On all other occasions, he has shown a terrible memory, and a quite limited knowledge. So a theory that calls for him to know something, even vaguely, is suspect.

Well, it's unlikely, but maybe he's done it before, off-panel, and just didn't realize exactly what it was, thinking that next time he wanted something, if he just hoped hard enough reality would bend to his whims and give him what he wanted?

I dunno. We'll just have to see what Rich says in the commentaries of the next book.
