Okay, she uses fly by attack to maneuver so that she's got the arcanist as the closest party member, and is low enough to the ground to drop the halflings without killing them, so 20 feet up.

That's 75 of 150 feet of movement used, or so.

Next:
She opens her mouth, wide... then wider.... and wider still, and unleashes her breath weapon.

I believe given your positional layout that she is now basically behind the party.

First:
Level check for max HD per creature turned. This is a formality.
[roll0]
Turning "damage" or max total HD affected.
[roll1]

This affects the arcanist, and I believvveeee the divine caster as well as the tiefling.
To your paladin's sorrow, it does not affect the two piles of halfling bones. ;)

Your arcanist and divine caster are turned as per turn undead, via a supernatural effect. The tiefling is also turned.

They get to flee exclusively and to the best of their ability from her for the next ten rounds.

She wings back up a bit to get out of reach and ends her turn.

As the frigid cone of raw shadows washes over you, you hear the whispers of dead lands and empty houses, the unsteady and fading heartbeat of a world. You would swear she smiles in satisfaction as she wings up above you.

Immediate Action:
Use my last warding :smallannoyed:

Throwing up a green veil...and it stops...you guessed it...breath weapons...there is a second veil behind it, but you cannot see what it is...

(edit)
NO DM
It's a Blue Veil

(this is yet another area warding)

Doc Roc
2009-06-25, 04:55 PM
Bet you a shiny shiny shiny penny that it's violet or indigo!
She drops her last halfing, held in her tail, straight into the veil.

Halflings are roughly equivalent to a shiny shiny penny in most standard exchange rates for legal tender.

theterran
2009-06-25, 05:01 PM
Sadly, the green is the kill veil...
I need 2 fort saves for the halfling...:smalltongue:

Doc Roc
2009-06-25, 05:09 PM
he cannot pass your dcs.
[roll0]
[roll1]

Care to tell me how he dies, since I get to see his body as he passes through?

theterran
2009-06-25, 07:23 PM
Read the green prism on Prismatic Wall (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/prismaticwall.htm)...that's how he dies...

Now...where is this dragon...can everyone see her? and at what range?

Doc Roc
2009-06-25, 08:02 PM
Heh, because of the halfling, she gets a hide check, due to momentary distraction. She's got 50% conceal, so.... :)
Thought I was just doin' it to torment your paladin?

[roll0] (wasn't sure if the penalty for huge size was factored into her stats, so I'm acting like it's not)
So spot checks for anyone with true seeing or illumination strong enough to reach about 70 feet.

theterran
2009-06-25, 09:05 PM
Ok, assuming I still know where the dragon was...

both Tank and Divine will delay until after Arcane.

Arcane will cast glitterdust in a 10ft spread in the last place we saw the dragon...if she's still there...I'll need a will save against blindness...

Doc Roc
2009-06-25, 09:27 PM
ugh, she's too large to move as far as I wanted, so I think this may catch her in the AoE.... Freaking glitterdust :))

[roll0]

There goes my hide.
I thiiiiink she saves :)
But minus forty to hide is rough... For around 20 rounds...

theterran
2009-06-25, 09:31 PM
DUN DUN DUN! :smallwink:

Awesome, so with the -40 to hide, I'm guessing she's visible now?

Doc Roc
2009-06-25, 09:38 PM
Yes, probably, but only with some spots, first.

theterran
2009-06-26, 06:42 AM
alrighty...spot checks...

Tank - [roll0]
Skillz - [roll1]
Divine - [roll2]
Arcane - [roll3] (What a time for a 2 :smallannoyed:)

Tsk; I do wish you hadn't described the effects of that marvelous breath weapon until after he could no longer do a thing about it.

I should note that even the glitterdust only partially illuminates her, making her look like a nebulous, black, foggy constellation. That wants to kill you.

Tidesinger
Size was factored in. Beads of force time? Or?

Doc Roc
2009-06-26, 11:55 AM
It was a speed issue, hadn't a choice, really.

What will you do about my decanter of endless halflings? She's made it clear she only wants the veils down.

Arcane can't see her, ironically, as her hide is still seven. Someone else will have to point her out to him, since size was already factored in. :))

theterran
2009-06-26, 12:14 PM
Can you give me a distance of how far away she is?

Doc Roc
2009-06-26, 12:43 PM
She's about sixty feet straight up.

theterran
2009-06-26, 04:41 PM
Would that breath weapon be considered "Mental Influence?" :smallconfused:

Incoming fire gets nixed by her SR.

Curse your SR...

Cleric burns to uses of Belt of Battle for a standard action to cast Destruction again...

[roll0] - I swear the RNG is hating me this match....

(Still have the skillmonkey to go)

Doc Roc
2009-06-28, 03:26 PM
SR to the rescue!

Doc Roc

:: hums intently :: So who can see her right now? I presume just meestar arcane with his fancy-fancy true-seeing?

Doc Roc
2009-06-29, 02:50 PM
Turns out, I can read, with some effort. Looks like probably only the arcanist, unless you have a tremendously bright natural light since it's basically pitch black in here. Or you have darkvision out further than 60 feet. Okay.... So!

Her go is pretty simple:

Invisible Spell+Wall of Ice in a hemisphere over top of your area warding, she has a 16 foot radius or so. Only visible to Arcanist and Skill monkey.

As you no longer have line of sight with anyone who can see her, the rest of her turn is spoilered below.

She ducks off behind the partition between the two large rooms, and prepares to dive under the rock as soon as she can go incorporeal.

theterran
2009-06-30, 09:11 AM
Is it back around to my init, or is she still doing stuff?

Doc Roc
2009-06-30, 12:25 PM
She's done.

theterran
2009-06-30, 01:26 PM
Assuming you have LoS, read below:

Back to you.

Doc Roc
2009-06-30, 06:44 PM
Obs:

She takes a standard action to go incorporeal and dives into the earth as best she can to head towards the players. This consumes her entire turn, and leaves her roughly underneath them, with her arcane eyes scanning to keep tabs on their locations.

Back to you.

theterran
2009-06-30, 07:41 PM

Believe me, I understand

Doc Roc

Finals week. Updates will resume thursday or wednesday.

Doc Roc
2009-07-15, 09:26 PM
Okay! The dragon opts to be bold, and sticks her head up out through the ground, an immense and incorporeal presence suddenly jutting in the midst of your small sphere, and casts sleet storm affected by invisible spell inside the sphere with you guys.

Casting defensively
[roll0] Against 18.

::giggle::

Your arcanist, skill monkey, and anyone else affected by see invisibility or similar derivative effects can no longer see.

theterran
2009-07-16, 06:35 AM
When she pokes her head up, is she within reach of skillmonkey (10ft) or Tank (5ft)?

(Curse my poorly worded ready action :( )

Doc Roc
2009-07-17, 02:07 AM
She pokes up in the exact middle of your warding hemi-sphere, so if that means yes, then yes.
