Some of my friends are going ouit of town for a couple of months. As of now, we all still plan on playing dnd. One slight problem how ever, need to know some way other than open rpg, for us to play. It was suggested that we just play in a chat room, but lets face it, not everyone is 100% honest. So is there a solution to our problem? Or are we just out of luck?

Sorry if this is not in the appropriate spot.
Thanks in advance

I've found map tool (http://www.rptools.net/) to be quite usable. I've been running a game on that's been going OK. Not a masterpiece or anything, but certainly serviceable.

That's what I've used before. It works pretty well.

Use chat rooms/IM systems, and have players roll on an outside roller. invisiblecastle.com lets you use a character's name and then link to the roll, or dice.evildm.net lets them email the rolls to you. Some chat/IM systems also have built-in rollers.

Which chat rooms have built in rollers?

You can get a rolling bot on IRC. MapTool has a built-in roller and grid, with a chat as well.
