Had an interesting idea for a gish build using racial paragons. Got the idea when I saw the half elf racial paragon ability to take multiple racial paragon classes, and thought "what use is that?" Answer: taking advantage of the bizarre elf fluff (and to a lesser extent Human and Half Elf) of being awesome at both combat and magic. So here's the build:

Spellcasting Class 1 (I prefer beguiler)/Half Elf Paragon 3/Human Paragon 3/Elf Paragon 3/Abjurant Champion 5/Swashbuckler 3/Eldritch Knight 2

What you gain from the paragon classes over 9 levels:

Good HD (d8)
5 Caster Levels
Medium BAB
2 Bonus Feats
Free martial weapon proficiency
Weapon Focus
A good smattering of skills (human lets you pick any class skills) including 1 that remains a class skill forever
Bonuses to spot, search, bluff and diplomacy
Better Low Light Vision (meh)
+2 int, +4 any stat (Int for example)

After the 5 levels of Abjurant Champion your BAB and Caster Level are both 11, you can cast your great beguiler spells as well as some decent attacking. Your +6 to int will be extremely useful for skills as well as spell save DCs. A few levels of swashbuckler afterward makes good use of the Int boost as well and increases your caster level thanks to Abjurant Champion's capstone. If you take Eldritch Knight to the end, you end up with 4 iterative attacks, 6th level Beguiler Spells, and a caster level of 16. Not bad.

I'm aware there are much stronger gish builds, but this one is pretty neat. You've gotta love a big int boost and bonus feats.

The bonuses you get from 9 levels are incredibly poor, there are way better way to achieve this.

Half-elf cannot take both Elf and Human paragon levels, he must pick one or the other. Also, Elf paragon advances wizard casting only, not Beguiler...

The other downside, apart from this build not being legal, is that you have to be a half-elf. Ick.

And lose CLs like crazy. Even if he could take all 3 classes, as a Beguiler he would never have access to 9th level spells due to losing 3 CLs.

Unlike other racial paragons, half-elves can take levels in more than one racial paragon class. After gaining at least one level as a half-elf paragon, a character can take either elf paragon levels or human paragon levels (but not both).

It doesn't get 9th level spells at level 20, and only barely gets a +16 BAB. Half-Elf Paragon is an extremely poor choice overall, you'd be much better off going just Human or just Elf and taking the respective paragon levels. For example, starting out Elf Fighter 1/ Wizard 2/ Elf Paragon 3 is better off than going Figher 2/ Wizard 4, since you get the same BAB and spellcasting in as many levels but higher HP and an early boost to what would otherwise be a career-long poor save. The racial paragon levels are only worth taking when you wouldn't lose any more spellcasting than with a more standard build.
