I hear it more like the voice of Morgan Freeman.

Nah, it's too nice and not annoying enough to have a Navi voice.

I kind of think it sounds like Obi-Wan.

i am of the extreme minority of those who liked navi as a character and missed her when she was gone

I always heard the voice of Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow.
Although sometimes Greedo replaces him.

I picture him having the voice of my 16-year-old brother.
Also, I think I have a terrible memory for voices.

I don't hear anything when I read the comic - I'm obviously missing out :smallfrown:

Yes.

This was actually mentioned when the archon was first introduced- it's apparently a very common charater voice association thing.

Someone could say that hearing voices may be a sign of mental instability.

Hell yes! If there ever is an oots movie, his voice should be it!

You guys associate voices with comic characters? Really? I don't even do that for hugely complex book characters...

Roy's Archon? I imagine a voice like a generic female PA system voice.

"There is no parking in the red zone."

"Your call is very important to us. Please stay on the line."

etc.

I always figured he sounded like C-3P0. Not quite as haughty as 343GS, but still a little snot.

Absolutely! Including the little scooting noise when he moves....

For some reason I always here HAL 9000...

"I'm sorry Roy, I'm afraid I can't do that."

The two characters that actually have a voice when I'm reading them:

Roy: Samuel Jackson

MitD: Johnny Bravo.

Yeah, weird, I know, but I mean, think about it:

"I think I'm s'possed to de-VOUR y'all"

"MMM! Stewy"

"Huh. Never noticed THAT before... now, about this GATE I hear so much about?..."

(Capped words being accented in the phrase.)

Wierd. For MitD, I get the generic 6 year old-ish boy with a small lisp voice. "Misther Sthtiffly!"

I always hear it in the voice of the Big Brain in Futurama's The Day the Earth Stood Stupid and The Why of Fry.

.... Who, I just realized, is voiced by Maurice LaMarche, so I guess I'm with Blackjackg. :)

For some reason I don't think he sounds like this at all.

Then again, I don't have voices for any of the characters; I don't have the attention span. But ADD notwithstanding, I at least see him with an average voice.

You are not alone, Dave
My name is Roy, Call me Roy!
I'm sorry, but I cannot do that, Dave.

Either that or Agent Smith.

You mean GLaDOS? The voice actress, Ellen McLain has also done a PA system.

It's perfect. From now on, all X-Monologues happen in Agent voice.

Maybe either Alec Guiness or John Guilgood.
