Everyone is cheering Roy's return at the next to last panel save Belkar. Hrm... :smallconfused:

Belkar just saw some Roy full frontal. I wouldn't be too pleased either.

Haley's a girl. Elan is Elan (Roy was invisible!). Durkon saw some Roy full rear end and Celia hasn't seen anything new if you catch my drift.

That's another question - is V Held or paralyzed?

Since when does Belkar cheer for anything that isn't immensely violent?

That's another question - is V Held or paralyzed?

V is under the affects of Hold Person, which inflicts paralysis on its victim.

The difference is that "lich-paralyzed" victims appear dead (signs of life require a Heal check) while Held persons are obviously alive (noticeable breathing), just immobile.

Not that the difference would matter in this case - whether he appeared dead or not, Haley would still drag him over to Durkon.

Hold Person (and Mass Hold Person) have a duration of 1 round/level. See here (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/holdPerson.htm). It shouldn't be able to last longer than 25 rounds or so, which is 2 minutes and 30 seconds. I think it's been at least this long since the spell was cast on V. Furthermore, V gets a will saving throw every round for Hold Person. It seems likely to me that he would have made it by now, even if he needed a very high roll to save.

I'm guessing it's paralyzing touch from Xykon.

No way it's been two minutes, but he DID touch V's face to Meteor Swarm...

It seems likely to me that he would have made it by now, even if he needed a very high roll to save.

If he needs a 20, there's a 50% chance of not getting the save within 13 rounds, and almost a 30% chance of not getting it within 25 rounds - well within the bounds of what can be allowed for Rich to just say that he's getting bad rolls.

I think you mean the third to last. He probably is cheering in the second to last.

Didn't people already go over the fact that Xykon has to at least be 26th level?

Well, Resurrection is a 10min cast, Durkon was already partway into the cast when V came along, then V wigged out and went after Xykon after spending some time arguing with Hailey, and Durkon was just finishing resurrection by the time Roy returns.... so if there is a maximum of 10min for the entirely of the events involved, then 2min30sec would be over a quarter of that time allotment, which does not strike me as unreasonable to assume it would still be in effect given how much happened, eating into the other 7.5 potential minutes, before the hold person was cast.

Well, he does seem to enjoy a good game of Parcheesi.

Let's not forget that V may still be under the effects of "willpower impairing" (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0653.html) spells from super creapy yet still hot (for a stick figure) Pigtail Chick.

Mind Fog (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/mindfog.htm) only lasts for 2d6 rounds after being inside the effect, even given a maximum roll it would've worn off by now.
