Why did exactly did Celia and Haley freak out?

Belkar advocated a non-violent solution. Indeed, a cessation of hostilities. Clearly, this was a sign of Armageddon.

(Regarding leaving Durkon behind after their first Linear Guild encounter)

Haley: True, but the three of us (Elan, Belkar, and herself) are so consistently and staggeringly irresponsible that it's utterly unreasonable to expect us to have been paying any attention in the first place.

Roy: That...is actually a very valid point. You're right, my bad.

Milk Dudes: Promise me ... that you'll ...

Milk Dudes: ... you'll dispose of my body in the waste receptacles ... conveniently located by the theater exits ....
Soda: NOOOOOOOOOO!

Lord Shojo's epic pwnage of Roy (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0379.html) here is probably my favourite, actually.

"What do you think, loyal wizard follower? Do you think Roy is doing a good job so far?"
"'Oh yes, Lord Shojo! I'm enjoying being a partially-digested skeleton!'"

Oh, the old people from 222 (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0222.html) were also immensely funny. Probably because they reminded me of my own parents. "Hey kids, can I hire you to rescue me from a horrible witch?" is totally something my dad would say. Good times.

I've used paraphrases of Nale's line here in response to lame puns and such. Serves me well.

As for favorite, I'd go with the entire second half ofthis (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0549.html) comic.

The best full-on dialogue was unquestionably O-Chul and Redcloak on the tower, but since that doesn't fit the criteria for this poll, I'm going to have to go with a close second:

:roy: (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0250.html): Oh. Oh no. I wouldn't touch your skinny uptight ass with a standard-issue 10-ft. pole, you overbearing self-righteous bitch.

Aside from being loaded with awesome and a long time coming, I just can't get enough of the words "standard issue 10-ft. pole."

"Because it's fun to make him that uncomfortable, and I'm secure enough in my manhood to go that far to embarrass him."

There are many, many more that I could pick, but that's one of the lines that's just pure undiluted awesomeness as far as characterisation is concerned. XD

I was about to post a link to this strip, but I see that someone else has already beaten me to it. Of course, I could try looking for a second favorite, but there are so many good exchanges that it would take me hours just to pick one (at which point it would of course have already been picked by someone else).

But I guess it deserves to have both sides of the conversation.

:miko: Perhaps in the future, if you approached the propect of a romantic relationship from this more mature perspective, I would not be so dismissive of the possibility.
:roy: Oh. Oh no. I wouldn't touch your skinny uptight ass with a standard-issue 10-ft. pole, you overbearing self-righteous bitch.

Cue hug by Haley.
