Got the name from somebody saying it should be a splatbook. Anyway, I thought it would be efficient if there was a thread that had all of the alcohol-based classes that have been invented on these boards. If you would, I would like a copy of each of the relevant classes posted here, preferably by their creators. When more are invented, I'd like the same done.

I just figured it would be better to have only one thread to dig up if somebody ever has a bar-based PbP game.

If doing this is stupid and/or arrogent, I apologize.

Class Abilities:
Drink Like a Demon- As Drunken Master (p.28 Complete Warrior), except that a Drunken Berserker may take the -2 penalty to Dexterity and either Intellegence or Wisdom.
Stagger- As Drunken Master (p.28 Complete Warrior)
Drunken Berserker- When under the influence of more than half the total bottles of alcohol granted by the Drink Like a Demon ability (rounded up), the Drunken Berserker may add an additional +2 to his Strength or Constitution in any way they see fit. This increases to +4 at sixth level, +6 at tenth.
Drunken Rage- Starting at third level, a Drunken Berserker may rage 1/day (As Barbarian) by burning one bottle from his Drink Like a Demon ability. This increases to 2/day at sixth level, and 3/day at ninth. (This in addition to any rages granted by previous classes.
Tipping the Tables- When the Drunken Berserker is near a movable object that is one size catagory larger or equal to himself, he may tip it or otherwise cause a distraction. This forces a DC 15 will check for everyone within 6 squares. (DC 20 if the object is large, DC 10 if it is small.) If failed, they are stunned for one round.
Moment of Clarity- At fifth level, a Drunken Berserker gains the ability to surpress his drunkeness. Once per a Day, he may suspend all effects (both positive and negetive) of his Drink Like a Demon ability for a number of consecutive rounds equal to 2 + his base will save. After this time, he returns to exactly the same state he was in before using Moment of Clarity, including bonuses and penalties to stats and remaining durations under the effects of alcohol.
Inebriated Mind- After a time, the Drunken Berserker develops an almost magical immunity to enchantments due to his detachment under drink. This confers a +6 bonus to saves vs. enchantments. He also suffers a -2 to saves vs. illusions while under the influence.
How Can He Do That?- At fourth level, the Drunken Berserker gains the abilty to use objects one size larger than himself without taking the -2 penalty for fighting with an over sized weapon. (He still suffers the -4 to attack for being non-nonproficient.) He leaves himself open while doing this however, and recives a -1 AC while doing so.
At seventh level, the Drunken Berserker can use an object his size or one size larger to deal damage as though the object was one size larger than it really is. While doing so, the AC penalty increases to -3.
At tenth level, the Drunken Berserker becomes proficient in the use of over-sized objects, and no longer takes the -4 on attack rolls while using them. When doing so, the AC penalty increases to -5.
To Numb the Pain- When under his Drink Like a Demon ability, the Drunken Berserker gains a number of temporary HP equal to the number of drinks he has consumned. At eighth level this temporary HP increases to two times the number of drinks consumed.

I'm looking forward to bingo_bob dropping paper on his "drunken show-off" Rogue varient... ;D

As for a Cleric of Dionysus (or other god of partying) I'd suggest the Chaos, Joy, Luck and Truth domains. :P

I also have a PrC that kinda fits in this category for druids, and clerics of nature gods, and high-level rangers (though I don't know why any would take it over all the other good ranger PrC's). It's called the True Herbal Connoisseur and uses the rules for drugs from BoVD. Yep...a stoner PrC. However, I don't think that I can post it because the code of conduct prohibits discussion of illegal drugs (I actually did post it for a while, then realized that it might be less than welcome, so I removed the thread). If anyone wants to see it, I'd be more than happy to PM or email it to them, and I'd look forward to any input they have.

I know that this isn't completely on topic, but I figured that it's related to substance abuse, so I'd throw it out there.

Meph, I don't think it'd be a big deal if you posted it... after all, it's fake drugs, ingame, not a discussion of real-world stuff. And this entire subject is a half-parody anyway... although I do think Complete Drunkard is an awesome name.

Any Mod comments on this?

In any case, I'll PM you for the class, sounds interesting.

Umm..for the Drunken Berserker, what happens if enemies fail the Will save of Tip the Tables? It doesn't say.

Is it me, or are drunken prestige classes very much the fashion these days?

of course! every D&D player I know would LOVE to be able to have this conversation:

DM: You are attacked!
Player: I drink a mug of ale!
DM: Uhh, okay...the moster attacks
Player: My Druken Defense bonus is +5, he'll probably need a critical to hit me now
DM: Wait, what? Oh, yeah.
Player: Well?
DM: fine, he misses. your turn.
Player: I attack with the empty mug.
DM: Fine, roll and take a -4 penalty for improvised weapons
Player: but I have proficiancy in those
DM: agh! whatever! just roll!
Player: 12, and my Attack Bonus is +11
DM: What?! You liar it's only +8!
Player: I'm drunk, remember? That gives me another +3
DM: ...you suck, you know that right?

That's only the players I know, but I'm fairly sure a lot of people would like to have their characters kick butt at battles by being too drunk to figure out who they're fighting.

you want me to share my horrible creation with you? well I will if i find the file... I think it Still exsits. Here is a story any way:

This character was a drunken dwarf, he eventually got a pet War Rhino, who he shared booze with. some of his abilites include that he could move faster, just not in a straight line. Most of it comes from editted monk stuff attempting to be in flavor with the orginal class. He even had an ability that improves his diplomancy because he was so plastered all the time and said just the right thing. I also think I forgot to balance the drink like a demon ability and put it as level 1.

Speaking of Drunken Masters, I've had a great time with one, but I do have a question:
Is a spoon considered an improvised weapon? I've been assuming that, but I've just been wondering.
That, and, what's the best strategy for a Drunken Master, especially in a sub-par party [meaning, lacking all of the four key elements in survival: meat shield, blaster caster, heal-o-bot, sneaky dude.]

I made a drunken master for a D+D fight club once (well drunken master/monk/kensai).

He was built as an unarmed specialist for kensai. Because improvised weapons use your unarmed attack I was doing something like 2D12 with a thrown mug (I forget the exact number, it was a long time ago). He began fights by turning a bag of holding inside out and littering the battle arena with junk. So I would always have junk to throw or hit with at hand.
