View Full Version : More proof of evil

In the newest strip, I found more disturbing proof of the horrible evil of Roy, Haley, and the order.

"Do you think we can beat the goblins in seven weeks?"

Ignoring the genocide issue, since it has already been proven that goblins are all Lawful Good and totally righteous, doesn't this make the Order horrible evil?

Are you being sarcastic? I can't tell. Taking you at face value, not all goblins are Lawful Good. Redcloak certainly isn't. While a compelling character, he commits terrible acts against people he should be striving to protect. If you've read SOD, I think you know what I'm talking about.

Good catch, but you forgot that Vaarsuvius is invisible in panel 3, having been freed from the Hold Person spell, and is waiting to kill either of them if they question V's recent misadventure. :smallwink:

Redcloak absolutely is Lawful Good. Everything redcloak has ever done makes him the paragon of Lawful Good, and an excellent contrast to the terrible evil that is Roy.

Ignoring your sarcasm, the "goblins" refers to Xykon's army specifically, probably because they know that even if they beat Xykon, the hobgoblins will still have a foothold in Azure City.

No. This is war. Those goblins must die.

Yes, indeed: Redcloak is a Good cleric of an Evil deity... so... how does he keep casting spells?:smallconfused:

Since when does "beat" mean "slaughter?" :smallconfused:

Sorry, the Dark One is good, too. What's with you people? Your views of good and evil are very flawed, and it scares me.

Eberron style cleric rules. Simple.

Haven't you heard? D&D isn't doing good and evil alignments anymore. Rather they're replacing the "Good" and "Evil" with names of rock guitarists. So clearly most goblins are either Neutral Keith Richards or Neutral Kirk Hammet.

Redcloack is most definately Chaotic Slash formerly of Guns & Rose.

Well, my OOTS reading friends often compare me to Miko, so maybe that's it.

Oh my god, all of these threads saying that the order is evil and the bad guys are good and etc. are so stupid. Please stop trying to make stupid threads that you think are funny, cuz they're not...

That's okay, then. Obviously you too are a paragon of goodness.

Not so! For just as Good slaying Evil is not necessarily Good, Evil slaying Good is not necessarily Evil.

You have to prove to me that the goblins are evil, first.

Troll thread is a troll.

As for legitimate input; Xykon, Redcloak, Jirix even are all evil. They were all willing to throw a group of humans into the Snarl if it would have made O'chul confess information about the other gates.

Actual definitions of the word "beat" notwithstanding, if the OotS were to kill them all, they would likely retain their (mostly) Good alignments.

Xykon, certainly- Redcloak- probably, depending on his state when they meet up.

Remember that when stymied by O-chul his response is "Let them go- this is a waste of time."

While I like the notion of him having a "what have I done" moment and siding with the Order against, say, Xykon, or The Snarl, I am not too optimistic about it.

You know, it's funny. No matter how many times Ridureyu goes to the well, people still fall for his tricks.

You think people would wise up by now. :smallamused:

When in doubt, check a poster's history to see if he is a piss-take artist or not. :smalltongue:

And the two of them are doubting the saintly Belkar's purity and goodness! :smalleek:

Without their party's Paladin, how would they get anything done?

0/10, too obvious. The best trolling is subtle; ideally we don't KNOW that you're trolling.

My opinion is kind of the converse of yours, namely:

1. He's not trying to troll.

2. People are being trolled anyway.

3. We should hold this forum to higher standards than freaking 4chan.

4. We can't have sarcasm anymore? :smallconfused:

You are presuming that Ridureyu is trying to be a troll.

I tend to think of him more as a Performance Artist, myself.

When he's not mocking... certain elements... of the fanbase that is. :smallwink:

Or would this be considered "runining the joke by explaining it"?

It would?

I am unrepentant. :smalltongue::smallbiggrin:

1 and 2) From what I see, half the thread is attempting to play along, while the other half is pointing out the utter lack of funny. Only a couple of people are actually arguing that goblins aren't LG etc.

3) Trolling works anywhere where a poster can get a response, not just 4chan (in fact, 4chan is one of the worst places on the web to troll: peeing into an ocean of, etc.)

4) Sure we can, but it tends to go over better if it's funny.

I know what you mean. Ever since I posted the Rube Goldberg "This is how Miko is going to become a Blackguard" one, it's amazed me how people instantly take it at face value.

And actually, I think that if I hurry and make the "GRRRR ALIGNMENT!" posts first, the actual argument ones won't start as often.

Oh yeah, and, um...

:miko: Why is there a discussion on good and evil in this forum? There is only one possible explanation, you all must be evil! Prepare to be slaughtered fiends! SLASH! SLASH! SLASH!

I have not read this forum to expose myself to such evil, yet I am certain this forum speaks of extremely vile acts, yet The Giant has not ended the conversation. Therefore The Giant must also be evil! SLASH! SLASH! SLASH!

The twelve gods have not stopped me, therefore my cause must be just! This site must be destroyed! SLASH! SLASH! SLASH!

We've long since established that Good forces can fight each other. Just as "Good" doesn't equal "Stupid", it also doesn't equal "Mindless Subservient Drones Who All Have The Same Goals".

So the OOTS can be Good and fight the Goblins who are Good. And, of course, the Sapphire Guard, who are Good. The Linear Guild, on the other hand, being Evil, are free to ignore everyone except their chosen targets (the OOTS).

See? It all makes perfect sense.

Yeah! Really, if the Linear Guild were evil, wouldn't Sabine, as a Solar (or Deva, it's hard to establish) have been required to smite them all?
