Hi, and welcome to The Sticks Awards!

The Sticks Awards are given to the best strips of all times, chosen by the polls here in the Playground. Read the The Sticks Awards Results Compilation (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=34791) thread for more details and previous results.

To vote, simply post your favorite strip of the current 5 on the thread. You have 5 days to do it (changed by popular claim).

The poll will close on July 9th, 8:00 PM forum default time.

I'm gonna vote 578. I love the last panel.

Also, I'm gonna ask you guys to bold your votes please, so Nazzo, the 102nd has an easier time counting them. Okay?

Assassin89

578 because Belkar's delusional antics are numerous.

Blackjackg
2009-07-04, 10:23 PM
Sounds like it's going to be a landslide, but I'm going for 577. Not great, but better than the rest.

DBear
2009-07-04, 10:58 PM
A rather weak selection, but I'll go with 578. Belkar added comic relief in his delirium. :crazyeye:

petersohn

580. Important plot exposition and fourth wall breaking.

The_Void
2009-07-05, 06:20 AM
Well, none of them are outstanding, but 578 was a double page, so it gets bonus points for that. And "I'm a unicorn!"

Xapi
2009-07-05, 09:33 AM
580.

Same reasons as warmachine.

Optimystik
2009-07-05, 09:52 AM
578 for the win, like all double-strips!

hamishspence

Morgan Wick

Okay, can someone explain to me why these strips are better than the Celia strips in the last batch, which you guys positively revolted against? I'm going to go ahead and vote for 580 for the best way to promote a book ever.

Yendor
2009-07-05, 09:06 PM
I'm going to throw a vote 579's way, to show support for Celia not caring about Belkar.

I figured this was going to happen.

Not the results. I still don't see how 575 is a runt and 578 is a winner, over 580, of all strips! No, what I figured was that the polls would close before I could post my analysis. I'm no longer convinced 578 will get zero votes at BotQ just because I don't know how to read its popularity. Though it may still because of all the epicness that follows (it hardly surprises me to see the next round is already on the second page).

581's appeal, such as it is, may be solely in Old Blind Pete (and may be a harbinger of 578's performance at BotQ), 582 effectively resolves a plotline running through much of this hundred and which had occasioned mucho forum speculation, 583 has some appeal for Therkla's semi-official heel-face turn and the callback to Durkon's dendrophobia, 584 has several appeals but the main one is the one-in-a-million chance, and 585 has the demon's banter with Qarr and V's semi-stupidity. They'll all get votes, but if I had to guess, the favorites might be 582 (though that might just be my favorite) and 584, which might be the overall favorite (and has indeed taken the early lead though I didn't count all the votes). 581 might be a dark horse. The winner of this round might crap out at BotQ as well, as the true epicness involving Therkla and V is still to come.
