Just felt like sharing something that happened at last nights game.

My character (Dragon shaman, with an Intimidate check of +20) used his Initmidating Strike three times in a row. I managed to roll a natural 1 three times (we use a houserule that a natural 1 = -10 to your check).

1 in 8,000! :smalltongue:

Anyone else have stories of epic betrayal by their dice?

Clearly you have lost the dice gods' favour. Do you have a goat or other small animal you can sacrifice?

Well, once I was rolling badly all night and my GM got too enthuseastic(sp?) and tossed his dice right out of the store. He then asked if he could borrow my D20 and, of course, he was rolling badly. Until the bounty hunter attacked my squib. Then he rolled a Nat. 20, then to confirm crit he rolled (U guessed it) a nat 20.

Sweet! Now your next roll will be even luckier!

Maybe it is time to get some better dice. I would recommend game science (http://www.gamescience.com/) dice

Funny. I rolled an 11, an 18, and a 3.

Same chances!

If you actually do seem to roll more 1s and 20s than other numbers though, your dice are likely irregularly-shaped, which is common when using dice that have been overly polished. I recommend finding hard plastic dice with nice sharp edges. Dice with rounded edges are usually polished by tumbling, which destroys their regularity and will almost always result in certain numbers rolling more consistently.

This is what Mr. Zocchi from the gamescience website in the above post explains as well, though he is rather more verbose about it in his videos. I highly recommend the Game Science dice.
