At sucking though, not obliterating everything.

Dual Focused Specialist Shifter Transmuter/illusionist/Red Wizard 1/Incantrix 1

Specialization: Bans conjuration, necromancy, evocation and enchantment
Red Wizard of Thay: Ban Transmutation
Incantrix: Ban illusion

We are left with divination and abjuration.

Wizard of any stripe. Int 9.

Commoner, Con 4, proficient in Shuriken.

1 HP each level, no armor proficiencies, bad BAB, bad saves, only proficient in a 1-damage weapon.

[Edit] Whoops, that's one simple weapon. Well, with a dagger and low Strength...

Abjuration's pretty powerful in its own right. I can make a lvl 20 wizard with only that school and still be able to do a lot of things. Maw of Chaos? Prismatic Sphere? Disjunction? Yes, please!

Dromite Monk. All it has going for it is race/class synergy, and that's all it needs.

Then use Dispel Magic and purposefully fail the dispel check to trigger them. Explosive Runes mail bomb; it's been done.

Um, could you be more specific, like, I could just make a level 60 character and say, there, I'm sure this kills your wizard:

barbarian 20/fighter 20/bear warrior 10/ frenzied berserker 10

As for race, what the heck, kobold. It'll be more humorous to see a kobold turn into a giant bear death machine.

Better yet: transcribe the runes on the back of an amulet of fireballs.

Yeah, I think Quick Comment meant for there to be a subtitle to the thread:

He said beat his wizard at sucking.

This rules out Kobolds from the start, usually.

I'm kidding, of course. Kobolds are the best at everything. Even sucking.

Oh, let's do an honest build.

Drow Cleric 3/Wizard 3/Mystic Thurge 1.

Effective character level of 9. Casts spells as a 4th level cleric, and a 4th level wizard. This gives us access to 2nd level spells, at best. +4 BAB, +4 Fort, +2 Ref, +5 Will. Looking at an average of 20 HP at this point. Spell Resistance of 17 is something, although all opposing casters have at least +9 to bypass it (65% success) and a higher level opponent with Spell Penetration is closer to +12 (80% success). Oh, and let's not forget going blind in a Daylight spell.

Thank you, WotC, for allowing such a bad character to fit in the mechanics.

Your kobold doesn't have NI spell slots due to NI casting stat? :smallconfused:

We are left with divination and abjuration.

Still has Universal. Still has Wish. Still has every spell in the game.

Still doesn't suck though. I beat his challenge without even presenting a build. :smalltongue:

EDIT: Plus, thought bottle. Pain factory. there are ways to get around XP expenditure.

It might be powerful, but no match against a fully optimized caster. Back to the thread. Level 20 generalist wizard...with no spells prepared and no spell book.

Not beating a fully optimized caster != sucking. A fully optimized warblade can't beat a fully optimized caster, but it still doesn't suck.

Actually, the can be. Male Clerics will promptly be sacrificed by the females, though, and females won't lower themselves to the level of male arcana.

Actually, isn't there a +1 LA Planetouched template we can add to this? It would be quite nice to see out 4th-level caster with an even ECL 10, not to mention abilities that would blind him/her if used. :smallamused:

Better: give them Vow of Poverty (http://realmshelps.dandello.net/cgi-bin/feats.pl?Vow_of_Poverty,BE). Spellbooks cost money, after all!

Choker truenamer. With a flaw to nuke the truename skill. Another flaw to nuke his int. He is twice as useless two times a round. That is impressive.

Add herioc surge for epic levels of suckage. I true name 3x this round...lets see if I roll a 28 on the first D20 I will succeed. Then +2 each additional time.

Darfellan rogue 4/fighter 4/wizard 4/druid 4 in full-plate and a tower shield armed with a sap. Plenty of inconvienient multi-classing, bad dex score, low foot speed, no decent spells for the level, bad animal companion and no wild shape. With heavy armor ruining the druid abilities and hampering the rogue and wizard abilities a whole lot, and a horrid weapon that is at a penalty underwater which is the darfellan's speciality anyway!!!

a level 10 elven ranger with dual-wielding combat-style, ranged geared feats, who wields a great sword and owns no ranged weapons, and has a wisdom too low to cast spells.

EDIT: Oh and a camel animal companion with plant and vermin as favored enemies. And he wears full-plate.

Could be done, with the right optimization and a cleric friend to buff you. Wouldn't be great, but you'd at least get some utterances off some of the time, so it's better than a wizard with Int 9.

Meh.

Goblin Barbarian 1/11th, Bard 1/11th, Cleric 1/11th, Druid 1/11th, Fighter 1/11th, Monk 1/11th, Paladin 1/11th, Ranger 1/11th, Rogue 1/11th, Sorcerer 1/11th, Wizard 1/11th.

Probably Chaos Monk and Paladin of Freedom/Slaughter for the heck of it alignment restrictions. Almost forcefully CN.

Also, remember those traits from DMG II? Always ******* rolls.

And he has Dodge as a feat.

And I'd name him Senor Vorpal Kickass'o (http://goblins.keenspot.com/d/20050902.html). Perfectly legitimate 1st level character.

Lanturn Archon Truenamer FTW!
