"He must leave now, lest you forfeit your chance" The voice booms out "And I know a lot of things little Lyndon. Do not trouble your puny little mind with such things"

Piotr raises an eyebrow but then shrugs. If he did not take some risks, there would precious little in the way of rewards. With a quick look back at his companions Piotr heads down the passageway.

Lyndon's features flush red at the voice's goading, between clenched teeth Lyndon hisses

"Fine, give me the next riddle and I'll see if my puny mind can handle it."

"I'll have one as well, chicken."
Lucius looks sideways at Lyndon, he wasn't sure yet... But he was still suspicious.

The door slams behind Piotr as he enters it. "Fine mortals, you have chosen. What does man love more than life? Fear more than death or mortal strife? What do the poor have, what the rich require, And what contented men desire? What does the miser spend, the spendthrift save, And all men carry to their graves?"

"You are quite correct, go on" The door opens allowing you passage.

The door slams closed again "2 Down so far, Here is the next one; We are a pair, We can dart here and there, Though we always stay in one place. We can smile or shed tears, Show our pleasure or fears, And you'll find us on everyone's face. What are we?" the voice sounds out monotonous

"I think this is obvious, but Eyes!" says Lucius, jumping up and down.

"Oh little one, quite correct you are. Go on"

The door opens and slams after you.

"Right mortals, next one; Until I am measured, I am not known. Yet how you miss me, When I have flown."

"I believe the answer is time." Lyndon flush has subsided, and his demenor is more relaxed.

[DJDizzy]

"Oh yes, you are quite right little mortal, come into my sanctuary" The door opens and closes after you.

"Right, next one: I make you weak at the worst of all times.
I keep you safe, I keep you fine.
I make your hands sweat, and your heart grow cold,
I visit the weak, but seldom the bold.

Lucius walks through the passageway into the 'shrine'

As the 4 of you continue down the long corridor, you see more torches along the way. The stones here are damp and slick, somewhere ahead you can hear a stream running. As you emerge into a larger room, you can see a wide stream (about 4 meters) running strongly through the room.

""Oh yes, come closer little mortals."

Humming to himself, Lucius continues on down to the river

Little... Piotr tenses up, casting about for the source of the voice as he moves towards the stream and examines its depth.

Lyndon stared out over the water for a moment, getting lost in the motion. A story comes to his mind, of a man who once stared into the water and met his death. Slowly he approaches the stream, keeping his eyes and ears peeled for danger.


Sorry for lack of posting, I thought I had subscribed to the thread and I never saw any updates...Turns out I did not subscribe:smallredface:. Now I have, and will be posting much more.

The stream looks to be about 5 meters deep and the water is cool.

Lucius dips a toe in the water, to check its speed and temperature

As you dip your toe into the water, you can feel a strong wind coming from the other side of the river, carrying the smell of death. Something is definately not right about this place. The water is moving with the speed of a medium-strong river and is about cool drinking water temperature.
