Title says it all really - offline or online, what's your preferred source of gaming news? I can't help but feel that I've fallen out of the loop of late, and need to claw my way back in.

So, give me advice about where to look! My main platforms are PC and Xbox, and online sources are preferable. Gimme some tips, and tell me why you like some places better than others.

Cheers,

Well, to be perfectly honest, I get most of my gaming news from two sources:

This subforum
Escapist Magaine's website.

Occasionally, I'll stroll by the magazine rack and glance at the front cover of OXM and may occasionally buy it, too.

I scry it upon my crystal ball.

Seriously though, it floats around the internet and I pick up bits and pieces here and there, for ye, I am all things internet.

For the Xbox news this (http://xbox360achievements.org/) site is updated at least every day, though it seems to ignore the existence of other consoles. Which is understandable, considering what it is based on.

Penny Arcade is good for news, as in Ctrl Alt Del (the only reason I still read it), and Gametrailers is also very good for the news.

Though, as Player Zero said, stuff just gets around and no one dedicated site will have everything.

I generally find out on various forums, such as this one out of the many others. There's often some posts about gaming news, which I then read - and sometimes use google for extra information.

Magicbox (http://www.the-magicbox.com/gaming.htm) and Eurogamer (http://www.eurogamer.net/) are my main sources.

Hmm...

Here, G4 TV, G4TV.com, Gamespot, plus I get Yahoo! Alerts concerning the different game systems, and occasionally searches on Wikipedia turn up interesting things.

I just read threads on the Egosoft forums...if there's any important gaming news somebody will likely hear about it and post it on there!

Eurogamer (http://www.eurogamer.net/), RockPaperShotgun (http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/)and Fidgit (http://fidgit.com/)are where I get most of my gaming info.

I got to N4G.com which is a video game news aggregator but it's not a pleasant place...

Subsequently I get my news from a whole variety of places.

Metacritic (http://www.metacritic.com/games/) is helpful (for everything, not just games). And is fairly comprehensive (http://www.metacritic.com/games/bests/2008.shtml) across all platforms.

It's good stuff.

It Frequently updates it's list of 'Top 100 Games Ever' (which is different for every platform) if you're into that sort of thing.

I get my news in good ol' paper.

For the most part anything all that interesting ends up being posted here, so thats where I get most of my information. If something here ends up looking interesting I search specifically for it in other places but no place in particular.

Sure it means my news is fairly well filters, but I'm not interested in a lot of the news so thats fine.

I also read Penny Arcade, but its more of a source of meta-gaming news rather then actual gaming news. And now that I think about it I don't think I've ever thought about getting most of the games they talk about.

I usually check HeavenGames at least once a day. This site is also good for information. If I want information on a specific game, I check the homepage for that game, or a reliable fansite (such as WoWWiki for Warcraft). Offline, there are several good magazines where I live, and I try to get every issue of them.

Joystiq. My friend is also a video game journalist and so I get tidbits thrown in here and there.

Eurogamer (http://www.eurogamer.net/), RockPaperShotgun (http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/)and Fidgit (http://fidgit.com/)are where I get most of my gaming info.

Sounds about right.

Of course, I'm pretty much a Rock Paper shotgun guy for these things. Don't have enough money to care about releases to the exact second, and Burke, I mean LewieP tends to know when there's a good sale.

No mention of GiantBomb.com (http://www.giantbomb.com/)?

Reviews, preveiws, hands on quick looks, funny as hell hosts, and an awesome weekly podcast.

This forum is pretty much it for me since I don't buy new games very often. Unless I get dragged to Gamespot by a link on GameFAQs (while looking for hints for old games).

A game forum I frequent, and IGN. Used to check Gamespot, but that whole review controversy they had led to me not bothering anymore.

Kotaku (http://www.kotaku.com)

Easily the best place for gaming news, and it updates very often.

No mention of GiantBomb.com (http://www.giantbomb.com/)?

Reviews, preveiws, hands on quick looks, funny as hell hosts, and an awesome weekly podcast.

Don't forget the awesome Persona 4 Endurance Run- that's all I visit the site for.

For most news I'll look it up on Kotaku as Expirement mentioned, but a lot of it does come from forums.
