We're being scryed on. How do I find the culprit and make him or her pay?

I'm playing a level 8 wizard (well wiz 5 incantatrix(incantatar) 3) and I can pretty much purchase scrolls to learn any spell I need. The rest of the party is also level 8 there are five of them, they are - Sorcerer, Ranger/scout, fighter/rouge, paladin/hunter of the dead, and a warmage/favored soul nearing his level of maximum uselessness.

Some item in the MIC damages someone who scrys on you. Don't recall the name, but it is in the Bukko's bargin basement thread on Gleemax.

Detect Scrying (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/detectScrying.htm) + False Vision (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/falseVision.htm) (although that second one will need to wait a little while), plus misinformation (give him some false blackmail on someone who will have him for lunch for the attempt - make sure that the person whom you're planting the false blackmail on has an ironclad alibi - shouldn't be hard).

If you can Quicken it, you can get away with Major Image (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/majorImage.htm) instead of False Vision, but it's a lot trickier.

More tricky still, I gave up Illusion when I took Incantatrix.

Finding out who is easy with Detect Scrying.

Countering it is a bit harder. Once you have another level under your belt, you can pull a teleport ambush on them (or buy a scroll, it amounts to the same thing as gaining a level). Otherwise you have to track them down (remember that you know direction and distance when being scryed on) which means that they'll be ready for you.

Steal the DM's notes, find out what NPC might be doing it, kill him/her/it arbitrarily. Tell the DM how incredibly lame scrying is.

If the rogue can reliably make a DC 20 Bluff check, (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/skills/bluff.htm) he can speak in a manner that makes sense to the person or persons he is talking to, and incomprehensible to everyone else. (or Wizards with cross class Sense Motive). This is how the party now communicates with the outside world.
At your next level-up, everyone spends two skill points on Speak Language: Roper. Or Drow Sign- eat that, Tongues!

There is a spell in Magic of Eberron called Scry Trap. Never looked at it in detail but the name should give it away.

I just looked that up. It's fifth level, if we kill enough Vampires and trolls erre we get back to civilization I might be able to snag it.

It does 1d6 per caster level and blinds for 1 minute (save for half and no blindness) and acts as a dispel magic vs the scrying spell. It lasts ofr 1 hour per level (I can extend that sucker with my Incantatrix tricks to two hours per level). There is no expensive material component, it looks perfect.

Would this DM be amenable to your character inventing a spell that deflected/prevented/blocked scrying? This allows you to avoid the questionable tactic of metagaming, all while enhancing your character's reputation for innovation.

My party always gets drow sign language. You cant eavesdrop on it, you cant use tonuges on it and you dont get listen checks to hear us sneaking up on you.

I pulled up Bunko's Bargain Basement and got more info on the item. It's from Dragon compendium, not MIC.

Deathglance Locket (Dragon Compendium 134) 3,860gp If you are being scryed on, you can hit the pesky voyeur for 10d6 damage 1/day
