Party with Otherworldly Superhumans! (Plot Thread, of sorts)

[Gem Flower]

It's a party. It is rather informal, everyone in bright-coloured sundresses and suits. To the untrained eye, everybody looks exactly the same and can only be told apart by the colour of their clothing adn their age, as there are infants here though nobody looks older than 25. Trays of elaborate exotic foods float around, stopping when someone wants something. There is a large dance floor with tiles that light up and change colour, and the floor is mostly covered by people dancing together or alone to the live music.

EDIT: Niam, River, and Vegarius should appear. Niam and River are wearing their bright festive dresses, and if Vegarius wishes he can be wearing the suitable attire as well.

I guess Vegarius appears here, with River and Niam.

I edited the first post. River smiles at Vegarius and says quietly, What do you think?

[Quinsar]

Yeah, he's wearing proper attire.
It's really nice.

[Gem Flower]

River laughs and says to Niam, You can go talk and dance, Niam.:smallsmile: She turns to Vegarius, There is somebody I'd like you to meet.

[Quinsar]

Okay, who?

[Gem Flower]

The High Priestess. River walks over to a lady who looks...exactly like River and every other female here. River says something in her tongue and the woman nods and walks back to Vegarius. The woman looks Vegarius up and down without emotion and says, So this is the one to whom Asaia's heart leads her.

[Quinsar]

It's nice to meet you ma'am.

[Gem Flower]

The woman grunts in acknowledgment, turns to River and says something in their language again. River laughs quietly.

[Quinsar]

Vegarius doesn't speak.
He's blushing a bit, though.

[Gem Flower]

River sees his expression and smiles. She offers her hand and says, Would you like to dance?

[Quinsar]

I would very much like to dance.
He takes her hand.

[Gem Flower]

River smiles. The music playing now is a slow waltz.

[Quinsar]

And Vegarius dances with River.

[Gem Flower]

Unless, Vegarius is going to do something out of the ordinary, I'm going to move on to the next actual event.

[Quinsar]

To the next event!

[Gem Flower]

Yay! After the song ends, River goes up on stage and says into the mike, We did learn something from that poisonous plane; they have some good music! Vegarius watches, pretty much in awe.

[Gem Flower]

When she finishes the song, she says, And of course, that was for Vegarius,:smallsmile: and walks back to him.

And they go to dance. River will probably start to see a side of Vegarius she never has before. Since he's really lightening up and starting to enjoy himself.

River does indeed notice the lighter side of him. She says quietly but happily, I don't think I've ever seen you like this.

You're different here. You don't seem to be remotely worried about anything, you just... seem to be enjoying yourself. You seem happy.:smallsmile:

i know it sounds corny, but...

She smiles and leans closer to whisper in his ear, I know exactly how you feel.

Vegarius smiles and keeps dancing.
Then, out of nowhere, he tries to kiss her.

He won't stop till she does.

After quite some time, someone comes up behind Vegarius and whacks him lightly on the back of the head, saying, Would it be possible for you to refrain from eating my niece's face off while I'm watching?

He pulls back, blushing.
Oh, I'm sorry . . .

[Gem Flower]

River laughs, It's good to see you, Uncle, though perhaps you could have interfered at a more appropriate time. Her uncle laughs as well and says, Well? Are you going to introduce me to your boyfriend here? River smiles and says, Absolutely. Uncle Norlan, this is Vegarius. Vegarius, this is my self-appointed uncle, Norlan,

[Quinsar]

It's nice to meet you sir.
He offers his hand...

Norlan shakes it heartily, Good to meet you as well, kid. It's nice to finally meet the one who can steal my Asaia's heart. River blushes lightly, Uncle...

[Quinsar]

He laughs, blushing a bit.

Norlan chuckles to himself and says, Well, I'll leave you two to it. Carry on! Before he leaves he says something to River in their language. River smiles apologetically at Vegarius, I must apologize for Norlan. He still sees me as the child he must protect and can be very... over-zealous in his protection if he doesn't fully understand the situation.

[Quinsar]

It's okay, he seems nice.

[Gem Flower]

River smiles. I suppose he is. Would you mind if I went to check on Niam for a moment?
