Ok so I have the Warcraft/DnD 3.5 Books , and one thing has always struck me as somewhat odd , Very little information on Dalaran itself other than "It was destroyed , the kirin tor are kinda still around , but whatever" is to be found .

I personally think that basing a Warcraft Campaign on the rebuilding of Dalaran would be neat , However I wouldn't go for the WOTLK Dalaran ending , I much more prefer the old warcraft , where mages rebuilt their smoldering rubble where it once stood .

So I thought that it would be a nice group project (If any interest was shown) , if I could get some help with this Campaign Basis ...

I would think that the Pc's would need to be affiliated with the Kirin Tor before all the action goes down , but I am wondering how I would go about creating the Kirin Tor affiliation entry criteria ,and advancement criteria , along with duties and titles

Also Rebuilding a City over the course of the Campaign seems to be a HUGE part of a campaign that needs to be planned out well :

Anyone have any ideas on how the Pc's could help rebuild the City : for example finding resources ? Or perhaps Becoming Powerful Mages so they could conjure up some rebuilding resources .

Anyone have any Spells they have created themselves , or ones which already exist that could help the Rebuilding of Dalaran ? (I personally think Epic Spells would need to be used for any significant change to the ruined city , if mages were rebuilding it)

I would appreciate it if anyone could help me Form : The Rebuilding of Dalaran . (Random Encounter Tables? , Spells ?,Adventure Hooks/Plots , Plot Line/Plot trees , Political stuff that the pc's might run into , Artifacts/Items/Lost Spellbooks that could help the Kirin Tor Rebuild their beloved city ?

Any Ideas and exchange of such would be greatly appreciated !

There is a few official 3.5 Warcraft RPG setting books, do you have those already? Probably lots of useful material in them.

Two notes. First, they aren't official WotC materials, though they are awesome. Second, they don't have jack squat about Dalaran. I have all of them, and only one discusses Dalaran. The summary is "the Kirin Tor sealed off the ruins with a cool magical globe thingy that vaporizes people, and no one goes into Dalaran now". That's... pretty much it. :smallannoyed:

Yes I do , but the books are only useful up until a point ..
for example all it says about the Kirin Tor :

Members : 123
Goals : Trying to rebuild Dalaran
-Flufff about the past-

The books can give me feats , classes and attack spells (Have you seen the Warcraft spells , some of them are ridiculous if they deal damage) . And Lots of Flufff , but they leave out a lot of details for people interested in pursuing Dalaran .... Do you have any idea if there is any books that would be useful for me that weren't published for the Warcraft setting ? Preferably ones with tips on how to simplify a campaign in which your pc's help rebuild a city ?

For example :

Pc's Complete x !

Dalaran : X is build amougnst the rubble ! 1/100000 of the city is rebuilt , Hurray !

Is it save to assume you loved Dalaran pre-Archimonde Sandcastle Ritual of City Leveling ? lol , I agree , for the writers to overlook something like Dalaran , is disappointing .

Did you by chance make a Kirin Tor Affiliation Group ? One that could be re-used ?

well stronghold builders guide book is the go to for construction, other than that try sources that are primarily just like cities (sharn city of towers and such) for genral feel, if no one wrote anything down, how the city was originally is for you to decide.
a simplifier is get the lyres of building (13,000 gp each) they function up ta an hour without a perform check, and do the work of 300 humans over 1 day in 30 minutes

Step 1: Poctiv's Move Mountain on a mile-high mountain of your choice.
Step 2: Move the now-flying mountain over the blue globe.
Step 3: Epic Dispel on both the globe and the Move Mountain; Mountain falls, the Kirin-Tor die.
Step 4: Build a much cooler tower on top of the mountain.

Dunno if your familiar with the actual wow-game online, but as of wrath of the lich king expansion, Dalaran is back and in full swing... and now currently floating on ^above stated^ mountain dead center of northrend, spliting its forces fighting crazy damn blue dragons who want to destroy all life on azeroth, and... undead who want to destroy all life on azeroth.

He specifically said he wasn't interested in that.

Stronghold Builder's Guide, Arms and Equipment Guide, Cityscape, Sharn: City of Towers, Races of Destiny all should have mechanical (the first two) or inspirational (the rest) material to help you with city rebuilding. I'm afraid I really can't help much more than that, not really a big fan of Warcraft's plot.

The Kirin Tor

Background , Goals and Dreams :

Background , Goals and Dreams : The Kirin Tor are a group of Mages that study wizardry and archive spells , items and experiments for the benefit of both humanity and the world . They have ruled the city-state Dalaran since it’s building , and since it’s destruction after the third war ;The Kirin Tor have come back to their rubble to rebuild that which was destroyed by both the scourge and burning legion . The residents of Dalaran were historically protected by the magics of the wizards who made the city their haven. The Kirin Tor have erected a glowing dome around the entire city, powerful enough to destroy anyone who touches it. Within that protective barrier the Kirin Tor are weaving their spells to rebuild their destroyed city, but many surprises certainly remain hidden behind the protective magic .

The Kirin Tor : Please refer to Page 154 of The Alliance Player’s Guide for more information on the background and History of the Kirin Tor .

Enemies and Allies:

Enemies and Allies: The Kirin Tor at the present time only trusts those within their ranks due to the present circumstances. The Kirin Tor accepts the sympathies of the alliance and are extremely sympathetic to the problems that plague the alliance. However, the Kirin Tor must look at all of the races of the world capable of using Arcane magic to rebuild their once wondrous past.

Members :

Members: Before the Scourge came, any human mage was welcome in Dalaran. They found peers and a place to stay and to work in peace. Magi with an eye for detail and a strong focus on research were offered membership in the Kirin Tor. This process could take anywhere from a few months to several years — the ruling council did not invite magi until it was sure of their abilities and allegiances.

Dalaran Rebuilding Initiative

Symbol: http://images.elfwood.com/art/r/o/rory777/warhammer.jpg

Background, Goals and Dreams :

The Dalaran Rebuilding Initiative was created by the Kirin Tor once they returned to the ruins of Dalaran after the Third war . Although the forces of Prince Kael’thas rebuilt observatories within the city limits, these efforts did not provide the Kirin Tor with a working city, thus they created The Dalaran Rebuilding Initiative . Scouring the lands for Gifted Engineers, Warriors and Artisans, the Initiative works directly with those running the Kirin Tor to help rebuild the destroyed city . Currently , all members of The Initiative have very narrowed jobs : Warriors and Mercenaries escort those that are brining resources to the construction site (Merchant Caravans within the Alterac Mountains and the Foothills of Hillsbrad are also given this protection as long as they promise to give The Kirin Tor a discount on any wares that are of interest.) . Engineers make blueprints, floor plans and designs for Dalaran . The Engineers currently are working fully outside of the Arcane Dome; they are charged with the task of rebuilding a portion of the Outer City Walls and Gates. (The Engineers are in addition, given the responsibility of making lists of resources needed, the cost for the materials , the quantities and organizing parties in making the orders and retrieving the materials to bring back to the construction site.) The Artisans of The Initiative are given the task of designing the esthetical components of the creations of the Engineers, they are given the task of beautifying the Surrounding Area as well, free reign over the paints is one of the delights that the Artisans revel in. The overall Goal of the Initiative is to Rebuild The Glorious City of Dalaran , a task that will not be taken lightly .

Enemies and Allies:

The members of the Initiative seek out allies within the alliance, and independent organizations to help the Kirin Tor rebuild the city of Dalaran . The Initiative looks for non-magical resources, engineers and artisans to further their cause. The Initiative also employs mercenaries and has a standing militia within the Alterac Mountains and the Hillsbrad Foothills to escort merchant caravans within the hinterlands of Dalaran City’s sphere of influence. Although this may seem like a huge step forward for the rebuilding of the City of Dalaran , there are those that would seek this effort completely destroyed . The remnants of the scourge within the area , are always at the back of the minds of both The Kirin Tor , and the Dalaran rebuilding Initiative ,many caravans of valuable resources have been lost to scourge attacks . Also some of the Initiative have run into minor demons near the Dome of Dalaran , although they are reassured by The Kirin Tor that these demons have been around for some time , the magic from the protective dome however , is attracting them like moths to the flame . Horde skirmishes are only a minor annoyance to the Initiative, but only if the occurrence of such attacks remains rare , the increase of Horde attacks or Internment camp prisoners would spell doom for the Initiative’s progress of the Rebuilding efforts .

Members:

The Members of the Initiative are given entrance into the affiliation based on their skills and work in other areas of work . Those from across Azeroth has been summoned , and many have heard the call of The Initiative . The remaining High Elf Engineers (Who helped the Kirin Tor in designing Defences and Magickal Defences for the city) are almost exclusively taken from the Captial City of Stormwind , and are favoured within The Initiative’s ranks .

Type: Engineering Collective/Mercenary Group

Scale: City/Region 8

Affiliation Score Criteria :

Joining the Dalaran Rebuilder’s Initaitve is simple to join for the races of the alliance when they are in the vicinity of the construction site . Many mercenaries are attracted to the exciting work and frequency in which they will receive jobs . Engineers and Artisans are given invitations to the Initiative when word of their wonderous work has reached those within the ranks of The Initative and The Kirin Tor. Once Invited , an Armed escort of both the Initaitve and The Kirin Tor come to give you safe passage to either the Alterac Mountains , Hillsbrad or if you wish to stay at the construction site permentely , you are given quarters there .

Preposed Kirin Tor Edit :

Should I write in ,that once Dalaran becomes operational as a city , The Kirin Tor's Influence is Boosted to 12 to represent the Kingdom of Dalaran , or should the Kirin Tor affiliation be reworked for when the City is rebuilt ?
