I need a way to hit DC 71 with spellcraft reasonably often. Like at least 75% of the time. I already have max ranks (28) and a +12 int bonus which uses tomes and a +6 enchanment bonus to help it out for a total of 40. The starting gp is a VERY BIG SUM. 8,6 million which is now 8,2 with the items I've already chosen. Anyway. Need ways to crank up that Spellcraft.

E: Oh and I have
Core, CADV, CARC, Dungeonscape, Draconomicon, CSCO, PHBII, ToB, A&EG and the Eberron Campaign setting book. I can also Access Crystalkeep and SRD. Stuff here (http://brilliantgameologists.com/boards/index.php?topic=1109.0;topicseen) works too.

Epic Skill Focus(Spellcraft) = +10

The obvious choice: craft a custom item to give a Skill bonus (competence) to Spellcraft. The non-Epic limit is +30, and will only cost you 90,000 gp.

Custom Magic Item of Spellcraft +30? When you have that much cash, shouldn't be too much of a problem cost-wise.

EDIT: I got ninja-sammiched.

If your DM hasn't forbidden skill bonus items you can get an item of +30 to Spellcraft for 90,000. Get two or three of those (different bonus types of course) and solve your problem.

EDIT: Mass ninja storm

Don't forget to max out Knowledge (arcana) for +2 Synergy and +2 Epic Synergy. Every little bit helps.

Spellscales can get an untyped bonus on spellcraft equal to half their character level. Since you are apparently level 25 from your stated skill ranks, that choice of race would get you +12.

If this is for casting epic spells and your DM won't allow custom skill boosting items, the Epic Spellcaster Rod (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/epic/magicItems/rods.htm#epicSpellcaster) gets you +10.

Buffing yourself with Greater Heroism is +4.

Combining all of these plus synergy from Knowledge (Arcana) would bring your bonus up to +70, enough to hit your target DC on a 1. If you can take 10, which is explicitly the normal default for casting epic spells, that's enough for DC 80.

Actually level 30 gestalt with casting as a level 24 Beguiler. Race is changeling. But yeah forgot my synergies.

Then max ranks is 33, not 28.

Don't you need 30 ranks in Spellcraft to craft that, though?

Yup, but the price quoted is for buying it. If you craft it, it's half cost and a bit of XP.
Bonus squared * 100 for skill bonus rings.

There's a few face and head slot items in the MIC which grant bonuses as well. They're non-epic, so you could concievably get a custom version with double or triple that bonus for a higher cost (consult your DM before doing so)

Don't you need 30 ranks in Spellcraft to craft that, though? No. Or at least, the Boots of Elvinkind don't need the maker to have the bonus.

No. It's 28. My casting comes from Beguiler 20/MoMasks 10. For a total of 24 four levels of casting and a max rank of 28 since spellcraft is not a class skill for MoMasks'

Regardless of whether a skill is purchased as a class skill or a cross-class skill, if it is a class skill for any of your classes, your maximum rank equals your total character level + 3

Nah, its 33.

Yeah max ranks is still 33 as it is a class skills. Just costs you more skill points to boost it up if it isn't a class skill for your second class.

Good catch. Shuffled some points to get my Concentration and Spellcraft to their actual maximums. Now I'm packing +78 to spellcraft. That ought to handle it.

Few other options: Craft an epic spell that gives you a massive Spellcraft-boost of some unusual type (say, Luck) or a massive Int-boost (say, +50) using long casting time and assistance as mitigation and then cast it in some fast time plane, making it permanent.

Others: Item Familiar, from UA. Basically doubles your ranks in Spellcraft, giving you ~60 without adding any other bonuses. Note that max ranks are always determined by whether the skill has ever been a class skill for you, giving you 33 ranks.

Moment of Prescience trivially gives you +25 Insight and Divine Insight is +15 I think. Guidance of the Avatar (don't have link here, search Wizards site with Google) is +20 Competence. Making them into permanent items or just casting them before each check works.

Few random things also work. But yeah, it's easy.

There are two other useful feats if you want higher spellcraft:
