in comic 666, Roy says that he can't remember anything beyond the gate.but in comic 670, he says he is still recovering from his mom. how can he remember that?

It's "a big happy fulfilling blur". With a few squicky bits.

Maybe he remembers remembering his mother when the Oracle talked to him about it. Good job that memory charm failed.

i think that was probably a slip on the giant's part, or he just thought it was worth the joke was worth the relatively minor discontinuity

as stated in another forum that I frequent:

Some things stay with you until they day you die. And then there's things that haunt you in the afterlife. And then there's the things that continue to define your life even after a thousand deaths and rebirths. And then there's your mom talking about her sex life.

You don't forget traumas that easily.

You don't forget your mom looking five or ten years younger than you and suggesting things that could be construed sexually (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0494.html) easily.

Roy said he doesn't remember much beyond the gate. But he probably remembers just enough that he can put the pieces together. Also, Roy talked about some of it while on the clouds, and his memory of what happened on the clouds it is very strong.
