Hey

I was just reminded how awesome my DM is. Only problem is, he lives on the opposite side of the country, and I just can't justify living out there, just for the D&D.

Anyways, I was wondering if there are any programs that would enable us to game together.

Thanks for any help!

We've been using Maptool for similar reasons. I prefer playing in person, but other people seem to like Maptool better.

There's even the option of using either of the Neverwinter Nights series' DM feature.

My dnd-group consists of people from all over the country, from way in the north to the furthest point in the south. Fortunately i live quite near the DM, only 30 km. Fortunately for the other players, we live in the Netherlands, so the furthest players still have to travel "only" 150 km.

Oh wait, i am supposed to help you with a program.....uhm......i wouldn't play if it wasn't reallife, it just isn't the same!

I'm a maptool fan, myself, though I've also used Gametable.

Really good programs out there.

MapTool (http://www.rptools.net/index.php?page=maptool) works well.

We use a combination of gametable and skype for our group. And a large projector locally to put gametable up on the wall. But we have the advantage of having a college to bum empty classrooms off of. Still, gametable is wonderful, and skype is decent, and both are free.
