In the first panel of #670 (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0670.html), Roy says, "I'm still recovering from my mom...". I took this to refer at his mom's general sexiness in the afterlife, and Enriqué (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0495.html) in particular. But shortly after he's resurrected he says, "beyond the Big Golden Gate... it's all a blur (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0666.html)."

I know, I know. The line in #670 is just a throwaway aside. Don't mind me; it's just my OCD acting up.

this has been stated before, and noted.

possible reasons include:

he remembers certain things that are hard to forget

some kind of magic recover memory spell

it was a joke, and nothing more.

believe whatever you want to:smallbiggrin:

he remembers certain things that are hard to forget

I choose to believe it's this.

To paraphrase Farscape and TV Tropes, brain bleach never quite gets out those really tough stains.

Since he has no motive to lie about this, I think we have to go with the rule of funny/scarring emotional trauma explanations.

He has perfect recollection of everything that happened outside the Gates (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0571.html)

I'd suspect he remembers remembering his mom from that incident - all the mom **** was probably running through his mind then, so he can recall it since he was outside the pearly gates when it did.

Well, it could always be an import plot element. You never know, don't rue anything out untill it's set in stone.

a) He might have talked to Eugene or Roy's Archon about his mom infront of the gates.

b) He remembers selected pieces from inside too, but the memory meshes with the outside the gate stuff and he can't tell it was actually inside

c) He was actually going to say "I'm still recovering from my moment with Celia", and does not want to spoil it by hearing about Elan and Haley
