So I thought I'd set myself the task of doing a short web comic series, and here's what I've come up with:

Human Computer Interfarce (http://www.humancomputerinterfarce.com). The story of a perfectly humanoid robot (apart from the computer-for-a-head) and his two scientist buddies. Will be updated every Wednesday for 10 weeks, the pilot went up yesterday:

I quite like the style, is achieved using some heavily edited vector art, as drawing isn't exactly my strong point (read: I suck at art), but each episode should become more polished as I find my feet. Any thoughts?

No takers eh? Well just a quiet bump to say the next one is up:

Critiques/slatings welcome.

"Graphic Novel"
This looks like it's going in a good direction. Keep it coming!
Love the name, by the way.

The problem is, it's going to be too short. Really, 10 comics is usually just the number expected when people advertise their comic here. Too bad, this comic got potential. I'm not sure 10 comic is enough to get all of its potential.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Yeah the name hit me when I came up with the character, expected it to be all ready common place (seems like quite an obvious pun) around the net, discovered it wasn't so jumped on it and the domain (doesn't have a dedicated site at the moment though).

The whole 10 episodes things was just a number I assigned myself to make sure I completed something substantial, as I tend to lose interest in ideas quickly. But to be honest I'm finding writing these fairly easy, already have another four done, and another four in idea phase and seeing as feedback has been mainly good across the board I may keep going past the original ten.

I'm also trying to figure out a good release target, one a week seems frustrating at the moment as I have a few in back log, but if I were to do two a week I think that might put the pressure on. What would anyone recommend for a wise release target and amount of buffer content?

EDIT: Because of you guys' kind feedback, thought I'd show you a comic that I started and finished today, titled "A challenger appears":

still a little rough and has no hover text yet (literally just finished it), but any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

And now we have proof. Video games are bad for our health.

As for the pace of putting new stuff out, I'd say twice a week would be very, very good if you can keep it up. Once a week is also fine, though.

Now that's hillarious.

And I usually won't bother to check a once per week webcomic, so I guess you should make it twice per week. But make sure that you enjoy it, or the quality will suffer.

I like this. I hope you make more than 10.
And a better update schedule, as the others have said. Perhaps tuesday/thursday, when other comics don't update and I have nothing to read.

Thanks guys, glad you're liking it so far! I was actually thinking Tuesday and Thursday if I was to change to two a week...Hmm all right let's give it a shot. Two a week, will release this one tomorrow, so sorry, no new strip for you but you will get fancy hover text (ooh ahh).

Also, not sure how you guys follow your comics, but have just setup an RSS feed for Interfarce: http://pixsaul.com/HCI but you can also just check the site (http://www.humancomputerinterfarce.com) (which currently just redirects to the HCI posts on my blog)

EDIT: comic is now live. I also post them up on reddit:

If any of you guys visit there would be awesome if you could give my things an upvote! Cheers

So, half way through the original ten, take a look! (http://pixsaul.com/tags?tags=hci)

I think I have a plan for Interfarce now, will release the tenth one on a standalone site I'm building, along with the other original nine, which will all be re-drawn and tidied up a bit, then see how it goes from there. (keeping to the two a week release pattern until I lose ideas, time, or people seem to hate it!)

Sneak peak at the next episode, you should probably read part 1 (http://www.pixsaul.com/HCI-five.html) first though:

Feedback always welcome!

Still pretty strong. My only nitpick is the speech bubble is still pretty confusing. Speech bubble placement/timing is really the third hardest thing in making a comic, after writing and drawing.

I don't know how to make it better though.

And the site interface is also isn't really good. Where's the next and back button?

Yeah that's what I plan on re-working through all the old comics, and then from number ten onwards, even I find myself reading the wrong speech bubble first sometimes! Have played with a few ideas that try to resolve this on upcoming comics...

The site is nowhere near done, they are currently being put up on my blog (pixsaul.com), with www.humancomputerinterfarce.com redirecting there. I'm building at humancomputerinterfarce.pixsaul.com (http://humancomputerinterfarce.pixsaul.com), will switch over the domain with the release of the tenth one, the site will have all the bells and whistles a webcomic site should have! Thanks for the feedback again!
