I'm not sure if this has shown up before, but if you look closely at the red-haired elf in OOTS #670 (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0670.html), you'll see there seems to be a new U-shaped body type in the OOTS-verse. While males are typically square-shaped, and females have the curvy shape with the good things, this seems to not always be set in stone, hence why the flat sides from OOTS #186 (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0186.html) have caused controversy over hir gender. However, given this new body type, which kind of combines the two body types, it's likely that if we ever see V without hir robes, it'll likely be this ambiguous shape. And thoughts?

That body shape has been around since Start of Darkness, at least. It's just another way of showing the typical androgyny of elves.

You can see it in the online strip here (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0611.html), for example.

I'm pretty sure what that is, is the cury bottom of female characters with the straight sides of male characters.

I'd like to see an obese character, or someone very tall or short (creature size not withstanding - i.e. halflings, dwarves, ogres, or inexplicably medium-sized sylphs).

Right now, everyone of the same creature type has seems to be the same general size and shape. Must make anthropometrics extremely easy in the OOTS-verse.

Not to mention shopping for clothes.

In general, women in OOTSverse have curvy shapes, and men have rectangular ones. So probably the "U-shaped" elf is female, but it seems that elves simply don't have boobs - this makes them androgynous. Since V wears a robe, we simply can't guess his gender.

Lirian (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0532.html) does have boobs.

But yeah, the U-shape is just to make it more difficult to guess.

I just think that long wizard robes and heavy armor hide elven body shapes and their curves...
EDIT (forgot to add): while leather armor like archer one, displays abit more of a shape, yet still not same as regular clothes.
Elves are thin in both gender and alot of elven females is flat chested. Therefore, we cannot really say which gender this U-shaped elven archer is.

She's probably just atypically attractive for an elf. It's possible, and for story reasons it needed to be obvious that Lirian is female.

Well, there has been some speculation that Lirian is a half-elf, so that could be the reason for her unusually... erm, drogynous shape.

Well, there has been some speculation that Lirian is a half-elf,
...there has?

:smallsigh: Well, I suppose, despite the utter lack of in-comic support, it's still preferable to similar speculations about Haley's race.

(Incidentally, for the invented word, I think just "gynous" would fit better, considering the entomology of "androgynous." :smalltongue:)

Personally, I think that the archer is simply going to war in a male-dominated culture. (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/SweetPollyOliver)

At least until V suffers pain to a certain region, but for the sake of continuing the androgyny of V, this would later introduce elves with a clearly defined gender that would react in the same way to such trauma as a male human/dwarf/halfling would react.

I'm too lazy to check my books now but I believe for Lirian to be half-elf she's supposed to have only 1 pointy ear. So that'd be something to check.

Isn't there a rogue feat that allows you to target this area in exchange for giving up a few sneak attack dice? I'd be surprised if there wasn't.
