I've been looking into sci-fi themed RPGs and found out that Shadowrun seems really cool. Does anyone know if there's anything like www.d20srd.org for Shadowrun where I can check out the system before bying anything?

Companies often print trimmed-down versions of the rules for just that reason!

No problem. And there are quick start rules for other editions too, in case you're more interested in those. I don't play Shadowrun, myself, so I can't comment on which is the best edition.

You should also check out Alpha Omega. My group has been trying it out lately and we've been really happy with it. Don't think they have much as far as free trial content though.
