Here's a cool stealth cantrip:

Camouflage
Illusion
Level: Brd 0, Sor/Wiz 0, Druid 0, Rng 1
Components: V, S, M
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Touch
Target: Personal plus up to two other creatures touched for the spell's duration
Duration: One minute
Saving Throw: Will negates (harmless)
Spell Resistance: Yes (harmless)

Your skin, clothing, and held objects mimic the appearance of any surface you press against. This can create skin deep changes in color to replicate the pattern of things such as bricks, tiles, leaves, bark, or stone. This allows you to hide without concealment, but still requires you to make a hide check. You can mimic the floor, but this requires laying prone. Any action beyond speaking ends the spell prematurely.

Special: If cast as a Ranger spell the spell is not interrupted by actions that allow the ranger to remain in contact with the mimicked surface. Very noticeable actions may require a new hide check with a penalty. Firing a bow causes a -20 penalty.

Special: If cast as a Druid spell the spell can only be used to blend in with natural environments or overgrown ruins.

For the ranger version, you should probably define more what you can do without requiring a new hide check. Most importantly, can you shoot a bow?

You could, but it would be just like sniping while hiding normally. You'd have to try hiding again at a -20 penalty. I've added it in.
