I have looked through these comics a few times but I'm unable to figure it out. Who is the robed figure that Soon is talking to in comic 459?http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0459.html

Just one of the ghost paladins, who happened to be wearing a hood.

Random ghost-martyr. The cloak makes it less obvious, but if you closely you can see he's as transparent as the others.

I'd say this guy: 2nd page, 2nd panel of this comic http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0448.html

You can also see him/her here. (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0447.html)

Either he was a sub-leader of the martyred ghosts or a character that has yet to be revealed. He was hooded while the others were shiny thus implying he was higher level.

Given that he's dead, I think it's a bit late for a reveal. :smalltongue:

(In support of your "higher level" statement, however, it appears he made his will save against the symbol, or at least averted his eyes in time.)

Maybe he's hiding himself because his Charisma is lower than O-Chul. :smallwink:

Um... Xykon. He's sort of the Major Villian of this plot.

Oh, wait! You meant the other robed figure! No clue. Maybe it's one of the paladins who wasn't affected by the Symbol of Insanity.

I think the robes are just a normal part of Sapphire Guard garb that are not always worn. Miko used to wear them too while tracking the OOTS.

Yeah, I was expecting that guy to be significant, but no. Wonder if there was something planned.

At the time, I thought it was Roy being given honorary membership in the Ghost Martyrs club.

Personally, I thought that it was a high level spellcaster with some levels in paladin, given the low hit points seen here (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0448.html) but the relative importance of the figure shown here (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0459.html), given that Soon was talking to it. However, given that it is shown holding a katana, perhaps it's a rogue/paladin.

I always wondered about that guy/girl myself. They look different from all the rest, and actually make several statements, unlike most of the Azure Guard, so they seem to be more important than the rest as well.

In fact, I'm extremely curious about just who that is supposed to be. :smallwink:

There's a such thing as a rogue Paladin?!

Let me tell you about Airman Higgs... (http://www.girlgeniusonline.com/comic.php?date=20070402)

Its a red herring. Got hit with a stray awaken spell and later became a paladin. The robe is a magic item that allows it to breathe air. Please tell me you got the pun. Please.

This mysterious figure uses a sword with no arms or hands being visible. Were Miko's arms and hands also unseen when she was hooded and cloaked?

Not often, but occasionally. (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0189.html) (Panel 8.)

And Belkar also wore one when going in disguise (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0294.html).

Showing other Azurites wearing the same costume is an indication that Belkar's disguise won't draw any atention.

Perhaps it was even true, at the time. Authors do change their minds.
