in comic 647 (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0647.html), Belkar remarks that "Let's split up for another year, maybe he'll finally master basic multiplication." Does this mean the order was seperated for a whole (in comic) year??? it doesn't seem like that long. maybe a few months or so, but not an entire year.

More like, if you don't see someone for a couple days and they've done so much, you wonder what they could accomplish in a whole week. I don't think it was actually a year.

"Wow, you did that in three days? We shouldn't see each other for another seven!"

At least that's what I think that line meant (only on longer timescales, naturally).

Not a whole year, but not a short time either. Kasumi got pregnant some time after the split up, she's near end of pregnancy now.

There is a timeline worked out, but the gist of it is that it's been something like nine months or so, maybe more.

It does seem to be close to a year given that Belkar only has 7 weeks left. (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0666.html)

Roy is probably referring to a Northern calendar. (Whether the Oracle was remains to be seen.) And since the Northern New Year's Day was "like a few months" (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0302.html) before the split, with the 3-4 months of the split, that probably amounts to about 7 weeks left in the Northern year.

That was my take on it. See this thread (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=119956) for details, including laying out the time between the Southern New Year and the current strip by David Argall and myself.

It has been 10 months, maybe a bit more. Anyway, long enough that one rounds to a year.

I think Dalenthas has it right.

Me too. While its certainly been a long time I don't think its been a year.

This brings up an interesting point-

Which "year" was the oracle discussing?

Because a Southern year would give Belkar a few more months, which personally seems to be more reasonable, considering the number of loose plotlines, and that I've always figured Belkar would die during the final battle.

My solution would be that they split up a long time before the oracle made her prediction about Belkar. I cant remember how long Roy's Archon said it had been since he died, but they hadnt even thought about leaving for the Oracle by then
