Ref question
Ummm how did Finn get here so fast? He can't run in a straight line from his starting position unless he made a jump check In the middle of his run and I'm not even sure if you can do that on a full out run.

Also my psicrystal is in the way so tumble check would be needed as well which again, I don't think you can do that on a full run.

You can’t run across difficult terrain or if you can’t see where you’re going.

A run represents a speed of about 12 miles per hour for an unencumbered human.


Under my interpretation, he can't run because the hole 5 foot quicksand, the planks and the psicrystal count as difficult terrain.

Hmm, I should have noticed some of this stuff earlier. *facepalm* Ok... psicrystal is three sizes smaller, so I don't think a tumble check is required. I don't think the planks count as difficult terrain unless scattered, but the stairs may. You're right that a jump check would be necessary, although I see no reason why it wouldn't be possible.

Difficult terrain hampers movement. Each square of difficult terrain counts as 2 squares of movement. (Each diagonal move into a difficult terrain square counts as 3 squares.) You can’t run or charge across difficult terrain.

Moving up the stairs takes twice the movement cost. As such, it is my opinion that you cannot run up the stairs. You may run down them, provided you make the required balance check.

In round one, Kirabee moves his psicrystal and takes a standard action. Activating a psicrystal's self-propulsion system is a standard action. As such, I believe his turn as stated is illegal.

Also, I believe the rules posted above make Finn's turn illegal as well. I recommend rewinding to the start of Kirabee's turn, unless he is allowed to start with his psicrystal's self-propulsion system activated.

Running the reverse however is possible, but only because the local map rules explicitly allow such a movement on a balance check provided all other conditions for running are still met.(Local map special conditions usual trump generic general rules.)

A psi-crystal's self-propulsion system has a 24 hour duration creating the possibility that it could have started while this was active.

Given that this maneuver has been done several times in the past and now has precedent on it's side I'm not ready to call the hammer down on this one. Perhaps if our GM Ref expressed an opinion or Gauntlet challenges this usage of physicals... but for now I'm not going to over-rule anyone on that.

Do you really need a LoS? You know exactly where me and my psicrystal are. If you are within 40 feet of my psicrystal you might as well say so since I did not revise my last turn.
