I was trying to finish up my character last night, after waiting and waiting for the update to finally happen. When I got to the familiar, which is the #1 think I'd been waiting for with the update, none of the familiars from the latest Dragon Magon are in there.
What's the dealio? I'm choosing to ignore the fact that there are problems I've been having for months, which could/should have been fixed with their emergency update. But, they weren't.

The Update didn't contain anything from 377, so no new familiars have been added.

Lies.:smalltongue: I was able to take feats from the Ecology of the Deva article, which was in the same issue.

Also, there was one familiar I hadn't seen before. What is the deal with the former show bear with the spanish name?

Blame Shelly Mazzanoble for that. (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/drcw/2009April)

Are you talking about the "Familiars by Artifice" about Eberron familiars from D377? Or the "Get Familiar" familiars from D374?

If it's the "Get Familiar" ones (badger, arcane eye, etc.), those are in the Builder for me. They're not in alphabetical order though - you find them after the original list but before Oso de la Fez.

If you're talking about the Eberron ones, well, you're out of luck for this month - the Builder and Compendium update only goes up to 376, while 377 will be added next month.

Also, make sure you realize that some of the familiars in those articles (well, the "Get Familiar" one at least) are Paragon or Epic familiars, so they might not appear unless you're of the appropriate level.

Not to Steven Colbert.

Wherefore?

Steven Colbert doesn't trust bears. I think they might be up to number one on his list of things he doesn't trust.
To me, his Trusticity lacks Truthiness. At least, that's what my gut tells me.

Well, thanks for your help everybody. I guess I'm all sortsa wrong... I guess I've got more waitin' to do.

Hey, I feel you on that. The two-three weeks between picking up Divine Power and it actually being updated into the CharBuilder were the longest few weeks of my life. (I mean, I'm certainly not gonna make a character by hand - how quaint!)

Wow, I almost have respect for Shelly Mazzanoble after I noticed the Brad Neely (http://www.creasedcomics.com/video_page.php?id=8) reference.

This is exactly how I feel. And, I hate myself for it.
I had a player, who recently went back to college and left us, that was terrible at calculating his bonuses to attack and damage. First, he though that Twin Strike added Dex to damage. Then, he thought it added Wis. Then, he was getting a +11 to hit, when the rest of the group had +8 or +9.

I found myself looking at him and thinking "This is what people get for clinging to the Old Ways." :smallwink:
