Dawn of War: Dark Crusade Necron stronghold question

Okay as the title sugests I've got a question about Dark Crusade here goes. I've just placed the bomb at the Necron's base and the objetives screen says that I have to get my comander to safty. My question is what does that mean exactly? I thought originally that I just had to keep my comander alive so I kept him in those necron passageways untill the timer waent down to zero but that didn't work, Please help!

P.S. I was playing Chaos if that matters

I'm not sure exactly what qualifies, but I just ran him back to my home base in a transport when I beat that mission as Space Marines.

You need to get him back to the rear of your base. You're supposed to escape the tunnels, and that's supposed to simulate that aspect of the mission.
