So, anyone seen this one yet? I just got back from it, and it was FANTASTIC. True to the original, but they added just enough new stuff to make it creepy and more realistic. I highly reccomend it, but not for the faint of heart... heh.

From the trailer, me and mine were of the consensus that Damian was talking too much. :P

Hah... the kid who played Damien was perfect. Besides the two scenes where he has fits of screaming, "they're afraid" are the only two words he says the entire movie. :O :P

I loved the original Omen, but I haven't goten to see the remake yet. I had to work yesterday. :( My boyfriend and I are hoping to go see it sometime this week. I find it absolutely hilarious that they released it on 6/6/06.

I had an 8 year old tell me that she thought the preview was going to make her cry...

"Why do they make movies only stupid people will watch?" she asked.
"Because stupid people have money." was my only response.

I love/hate smart children.

<spoiler>OMGWTFLOL! The evil little kid did it!</spoiler> ;)

Saw the original, have no need to see the remake thanks. Hollywood re-makes - 99% bleuch! ::)

Reminds me of the (probably apocryphal) story about someone changing the title of "Mr Smith Goes to Washington" and sending the script to the major studios. You know what one of the rejection letters said? "Needs a car chase and more opportunities for product placement..."

It looked scary as hell. The whole evil child prospect in anything always freaks me out in anything.

The one thing about it that bugs me though, is that the Antichrist was white, and according to tradition, he's supposed to be of Middle-Eastern desent.

The hazards of being too well-informed, huh? ;-)

Really, they stuck quite well to the original.

Well, you gotta consider that in this movie he was born from a Jackel, so he isn't really of ANY descent... :P

funniest movie I've seen all year. I really like the original, this was good too, but funnier. The dream with the mask was hillarious, the way the reporter gets beheaded was amazingly complicated wich made it funny, and the flying nanny was awsome. Needless to say I and the two friends I went with got some strange looks after the movie. ;D

It wasn't too hard to tell who was doing the laughing all through the movie it was the noon showing and there were only about 25-30 people there at the most.

Not a good excuse. Take the Psycho remake (umm, re-imaging? redux?). It followed shot for shot, line for line and failed horribly.

If the film offers nothing new then what is the point in seeing it? Are the performanaces significantly different than the original? Is there a car chase to enhance the action? Do you want Hollywood to continue to create films that are just clones?

You know the characters, you know the story, you may even own it already on a Special DVD Extended Widescreen 5.1 Mix THX Restored Director's Cut Edition that you got out of the bargin bin for $10 or rented. Why go and pay to see what you already have seen and possibly even own? (Argument holds no water for those who have never seen the original . . . shame on them for not devouring their genre of choice ;) )

Yeah, I just meant that it wasn't one of those remakes that totally changed it and ruined the story.
