... dude, no worries, as I said - preparing to walk around unarmed. Bad joke on my part - re-enactor, the last seven or eight times I've been to York was as part of something put on by the Jorvik Viking Centre.

And possibly. But it'll take him longer to go around all of our places than it'll take us to realise there's nothing there and find his place.. ;)

I figured as much, but it was just a warning, she's not a fan of weapons, even replicas.

I'm looking forward to this tomorrow!

My Mouse Guard game is looking good. I'm planning on running it in three acts. So there can be two breaks for food/changing pubs/players wanting to swap to another game.

I have arrived in York and have already managed to (slightly) wreck my car. Bloody fog and lack of sunlight! That won't stop me for tomorrow, though.

Also... Puerto Rico!!! Good stuff. Looking forward to that.

Oh no!

I did something stupid today. I was looking for a road, and sat nav wasn't helping. And I ran a red light without noticing until I'd reached it at the speed limit.

Nothing happened. But I feel really guilty and bad. I've never done anything like that before.

Don't feel too bad. My dad's almost lost his license 3 times (and actually lost it once), purely because he is late for EVERYTHING, so speeds everywhere.

Besides no-one got hurt, so no harm done.

Okays. I will see you froods tomorrow. I shall be dressed in a big ole black coat (probably covered in badges) with a red stripy scarf. You know, if you want to look out for me. I'll probably turn up at around 11 or 12, any earlier is just too much for my weak student constitution.

See you there, hopefully.

You will identify me and SkadisPhoenix by her wearing a Jayne Hat (http://home.uplink.net/~maburns/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/.pond/woolhat.jpg.w300h415.jpg) an me being the ugly bugger standing next to her.

See y'all later.

Heading off for sleeps now, I think.

You'll recognise me, probably, by being the only idiot wearing an open hoody with sleeves rucked up to elbows halfway through winter and carrying a bag with a sleeping bag fastened to the bottom with cable ties.

See you all tomorrow. Aiming to arrive around 12ish, all things going well...

I have arrived at the pub! I'll be the fat guy with the beard and the Ghostbusters T-shirt.
I've got some more games to try out as well.

It's Alive!
Carpe Astra
Bonhanza

The designer of the two first of those games are actually in the gaming store a stone's throw away from the pub.

Good times are being had.
Currently finishing up a mission of Mouse Guard, a game of Nuke Wars is under way and I suspect a game of Puerto Rico will break out in a little bit.

We're missing a few people that were going to show uo that haven't, but other than that, things have gone well.

Meet-gifts went down a treat. There are some left, so will be up for grabs for people after I get back home.

I have to apologize for my absence - Last night was WAY more messy than I planned and the day has been spent in a dark room recovering

And I'm back. Have to go out again in a minute, so you'll have to wait to see the few photos I took.
Good times were definitely had. I think I may have to consider getting some of these games...
Also, the number of Playgrounders whose real names I know has at least doubled!

Have arrived home. Was great, any more update from me can wait until hands are working properly - slightly numb - and food has been consumed :p

Thought I'd pop in and say hello. I'm Aubit's +1. I have no idea who people are on here, aside from the descriptions just given which rang a bell (Jayne hat, black coat and scarf, Ghostbusters). Nice to meet you all! Sorry if I wasn't much fun, I was half zombie due to some lack of sleep, and I'm normally pretty quiet anyway. Sleep depravation might've enhanced that. ;) I'll try to be better rested next time.

Loved the dice and compliments to the cookie chef! :D

Thank you.

Sadly, when I tried to take photos of my dice I got too much reflection, so those have been deleted.

I've got a few spares. Available as holiday gifts for the UK meetup regulars and those who expressed interest in coming.
Any left after that may perhaps be sent to others as well.

One quick appraisal check later and I can safely say neither of the dice I have are one of those nine displayed.

How, praytell? I was just amused that a meet-up happened so close to me when I was staying here briefly. I had no intention of showing >.>

KuReshtin

Why not???

Mainly to annoy AE.

Actually, I don't think I'd personally have anything against a meetup in London, as long as there are decent connections to and from either Stansted or Luton airports as I'd definitely fly down if we decided on a meet in London.

The problem with London being that its generally considered being expensive for finding venues and the like.

However, if AE (or anyone else in the London area) takes charge of things and start organising it, I'm sure people will show up.

Not to mention that I think some peoples have rooms/homes in London....With a floor....And things.....

Not to mention that I think some peoples have rooms/homes in London....With a floor....And things.....

There are about 7.5 million people in London that has homes with floors and stuff. Not sure the majority of those would be willing to lend floor space to a bunch of gamers, though. :smalltongue:

I would imagine, however, that it would be easier to find a pub or other suitable venue for people to meet up in a smaller city as I'm petty confident that none of the London playgrounders live in houses large enough to accomodate a meetup.

Hang on.. Since this is the start of the planning of a new meetup in the UK, I'd better start a new topic, I think.
