Zeronumerous, arkol, Pharoah's Fist, and Tempest Fennac

*****

Your travels have carried you far and wide, finally finding you in this swampy everglades region. The ground pulls slightly at your feet, and you get the feeling that remaining stationary is a sure way to sink (if you don't move at least 10 feet during your round, you can only move at half speed for 1 round). Aside from that it seems like a fairly peaceful place...

I'll need marching order and initiative rolls, please. All rolls are to be done here...including mine.

I'll be marching in the front, I guess.

Initiative: [roll0]

EDIT: And maybe even going first. Either way, I'll have Iron Guard's Glare up since peaceful and swamp doesn't compute.

Initiative [roll0]

I'll be in the middle, second to last.

Tempest Fennac

I'll be behind Zero while grumbling about the muddy terrain.

Initiative.

Zero, as you walk peacefully forward, the earth right in front of you is sucked suddenly away, and a gigantic form rises rapidly from the swampy ground. It blends in almost perfectly, looking like some sort of malevolent swamp vegatation. Two lashing tendrils surround a gaping mouth, and its fetid roar carries the terrible scent of acid and decay.

*Crap...messed it up again!*

Accidentally did 1d10-2, rather than 1d20-1. Sorry...I normally don't use the forum roller.

DAMN IT! Sorry...I really am new to this roller. I'll get it soon.

Fine *gets out bag of dice*

It gets a 5. We're going on me being honest here, since the forum roller and I obviously don't get along.

Actions, please.

Tempest Fennac

My eyes go wide with fear. What the heck is that thing???

Knowledge check to try to figure out what it is (all of them are untrained and they all get the same bonus).

[roll0]

Tempest Fennac
2009-08-10, 10:42 AM
(Use xdy+z[ /roll] while taking the space out from in front of the /.)

I'll charge the creature, before using Clinging Shadow Strike to give it a 20% miss chance for the next round. (I have Concealment for this round if I moved at least 10' as well.)

Attack.

[roll]1d20+3

Shortsword damage.

OOC: I was, Tempest. I was. Typos and computer errors messed me up.

IC:

Zero: It might be the shock, or it might be the alien strangeness of the thing before you, but you can't seem to remember its name, if ever you knew it.

arkol
2009-08-10, 10:44 AM
Metagaming-wise sounds like a shambling mound but those have ini+0

arkol
2009-08-10, 10:46 AM
Ok so Zero, Pharaoh, Fennec and me. In that order.

If we're allowed to metagame here this is win. We just keep moving away from it and peeper it with shoots whenever we can.

ZeroNumerous
2009-08-10, 10:46 AM
OOC: Metagaming wise, I know what it is. Doesn't change what I'd do anyway.

IC: I'll ask whoever has knowledge ranks(if no one does, then I'll delay until before Fennac goes) if they know what it is.

Tempest Fennac
2009-08-10, 10:48 AM
Attack.

[roll0]

Shortsword damage.

Do we wait on the result of the knowledge test or we post actions anyway?

ZeroNumerous
2009-08-10, 11:05 AM
I'd like to wait, but if necessary:

I'll need to know my granted maneuvers.

Stone Bones- 1
Leading the Attack- 2
Crusader's Strike- 3
Charging Minotaur- 4
Vanguard's Strike- 5

Base:

Turn 1:

When one's removed, the ones below it move up a number.

I knw little about ToB classes as I don't use them but.... don't you CHOOSE your manouvers?

Pharaoh's Fist
2009-08-10, 11:07 AM
I'll Entangle it, but in such a way that my companions can reach it without being caught in the AoE.

My dog shall attack (unless K. Nature reveals that I shouldn't.)

Attack: [roll0]
Damage: [roll1]

IC: I pop my swift for Iron Guard's Glare. I charge with Stone Bones, drawing my longsword as part of my action. Unless PF's K:Nature says not to charge, then I just stand there.

Attack: [roll0]
Damage: [roll1]

If I hit, I get DR 5/-

I knw little about ToB classes as I don't use them but.... don't you CHOOSE your manouvers?

Yes, I get to choose my known maneuvers. As a crusader though, the ones I can use at a given moment are randomly determined. On the upside: I don't have to buy into the economy of actions to do this.

arkol
2009-08-10, 11:11 AM
Ok... always learning I guess. And it seems you have hitted. Less rounds wasted on me fleeing and shooting it...

IC:

The pansy elf with the fancy bow flees.

ooc:

double move away from the monster.

Pharaoh's Fist
2009-08-10, 10:17 PM
Nature Sense means that I actually get +2 to K. Nature, so the knowledge check is an 18 total.

PF:
You have little knowledge of the hulking creature in front of you, although you do know basic information about it. You know it is a tendriculos, a huge plant creature that dwells in the swamps. This creature has vast regeneration and can swallow humans in one bite, it preys on travelers that pass through its domain.

Other People: Everyone who was planning to charge can, although the first person to do so will provoke an AoO so make your decisions and post please.

arkol
2009-08-11, 04:41 PM
Shouldn't it like.... attack before we move again?

Pharaoh's Fist
2009-08-11, 04:43 PM
"Hey guys, that thing is a plant with regeneration, very resilient. I recommend we use fire, and lots of it."

arkol
2009-08-11, 04:45 PM
ooc: as fate would have it, fire doesn't really help against it.

zarakstan
2009-08-11, 04:56 PM
Shouldn't it like.... attack before we move again?

You haven't moved, you basically just rolled initiative and it got a 5 or some such low number so you act first.

EDIT: No you actually all did act my not reading catches up with me so I'll act for him now

arkol
2009-08-11, 04:57 PM
Everyone already moved once....

zarakstan
2009-08-11, 05:08 PM
Okay the results of your actions:

TF:
You miss your attack glancing off its tough hide. Then you activate your ability giving him 20% miss chance.

ZN:
Your attack slices through the creatures branches and vines you deal 11 damage, but you notice it immediately begins healing! You also feel the familiar sensations as your skin and bones strengthen.

PF: Your dog charges forward missing wildly. What is the DC of your entangling affect?

Arkol: You move back 60ft. and ready your bow, but can do no more.

So Pharaoh I need to know the DC before he can act . . .

Pharaoh's Fist
2009-08-11, 05:14 PM
DC 15 ref save or entangled.

zarakstan
2009-08-11, 05:22 PM
Okay Tendriculos' turn!

[roll0]

So he gets a 16 and succeeds his reflex save. He now can only move at half speed, but is otherwise unaffected.

zarakstan
2009-08-11, 05:30 PM

[roll0]

I'm assuming he is not in melee by the time I shoot I he is then add a -4 penalty to the shots, for even more suckiness.

Impossible Grapple check

[roll0]

I'm grappled.

I shift five points into my Steely Resolve pool(like it matters) and soak the other ten.

On my turn, I'll just sit and die.

Pharaoh's Fist
2009-08-11, 06:43 PM
Since my dog is dead, I shall attempt to run away, I suppose.

Tempest Fennac
2009-08-12, 08:41 AM
(My attack only gives a 20 Miss if it hits.)

I'll attempt to tumble away from the monster before moving as far as I can away from it. I don't have any fire attacks sadly.....

Tumble check.
