At least John Allison isn't backing out of webcomics forever, but I was hoping for some return to the earlier SGR wackiness, and I guess it's not quite going to come back.

So in a world where most webcomics artists who make their living from the medium seem to be setting themselves up for a Schultzesque marathon run with their comic, how do we feel about artists who take the Watterson/Larson path and decide to move onto other projects when they feel they've done all they can with a particular property?

Well, it's not quite the same, because like last time Allison moved on, it's going to be set in the same world and involve similar characters. Just a different focus.

Personally? I like a comic to run as long as it can while still remaining good. If SGR's run out of good stories, then this is the best option it can have.
