Well, as you know, I've been thinking about creating a 4E game where the PCs are anime-style pilots of magitech mecha, and after reading up on Dark Sun, I decided that an excellent antagonist for the game would be-in the vein of one of the self-willed undead from that setting-another pilot who failed in his final mission, leading to the death of everything he cared about. The guilt of this was so great that his soul and mind bonded itself to his Spirit Knight (the term I decided on for the mecha of this setting) along with his body, creating a half-dead cybernetic abomination who's only goal is to complete his final objective by any means necessary-a goal which is still obtainable in it's original form (he hasn't been dead very long), but if you need an idea as to how dangerous he is; Imagine the kind of personality that mutters the exact words of his mission briefing under his breath constantly, then add constant physical pain and emotional trauma combined with a cutural obsession with loyalty and duty.

Of course, the fight with him has to be ambient, and I loves the music, so...

What appropriate music would lead itself to a fight with him?

Me, I'm of two minds-If the PCs think he's creepy rather than pitable-as I intend on his first few appearences-I'll have appropriately weird and dissonant music: take the AIDA theme (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A2unoAVb9G0&feature=related) from .hack GU.

If vice versa, then the old standby of sad, somber battle music will come around: for example, Life-A Distant Promise (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mTJVblKAXxE) from Chrono Cross.

Suggested to death in probably all your threads, but this really really sounds like Sanger Zonvolt in his original SRW Alpha Gaiden incarnation. As such, The Gate of Magus (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pq1qFiS9cTU&feature=PlayList&p=552F4C1F64799C54&index=0&playnext=1) would be my suggestion.

Nuclear Fusion ~Radiant Radiant Symphony~ (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_NNKK8Jfwyg) is also pretty ominous.
