The halberd is the Swiss Army Knife of the polearm world. It's the one pole weapon that can do just about everything. But the traditional design doesn't do blunt force trauma. So I decided to come up with a double style weapon version that gives the user the option of using a blunt attack.

In 3.5 D&D terms this weapon would have the following statistics:

Halberd Battlestaff (Exotic)

If you use a ready action to set a halberd battlestaff against a charge, you deal double damage on a successful hit against a charging character.

You can use a halberd battlestaff to make trip attacks. If you are tripped during your own trip attempt, you can drop the halberd battlestaff to avoid being tripped.

A halberd battlestaff is a double weapon. You can fight with it as if fighting with two weapons, but if you do, you incur all the normal attack penalties associated with fighting with two weapons, just as if you were using a one-handed weapon and a light weapon. A creature wielding a halberd battlestaff in one hand can’t use it as a double weapon— only one end of the weapon can be used in any given round.

75 gp, 1d8(S) or 1d10(M) ×3, 12 lb. Piercing or slashing/1d6(S) or 1d8(M) ×2 Bludgeoning.
