The pinnacle of destructive evil versus the ultimate predator.

The aliens have acidic blood (of such concentration that it would ignore resistance to acid); very few outsiders, let alone standard monsters have immunity to acid.
They proliferate by parasitizing the host organism, violently bursting from their chest cavity in an eruption of blood and gore. They possess formidable strength and natural weapons in the form of claws, and their jaws within jaws can penetrate bone with ease; the movies have shown them to be capable of breaking down steel doors. Their tails, too, are shown enough to impale and lift a humanoid with seemingly little effort.

Demons combine brutal physical force with intellect. They are immune to electricity and poison. And have resistance of 10 to acid, fire and cold. In addition, they may summon others of their ilk.
Most can also greater teleport around at will and have access to powerful spell-like abilities.
Of course, demons differ considerably from demon to demon; such is the chaotic nature of the Abyss, but most possess considerable Strength and Constitution. And many, such as the balor, the marilith, the nalfeshnee are at least as smart if not smarter than the greatest wizards.

Who would win?

Demons. They could resist the acid blood enough not to be to hampered by it. This is clearly not a Dretch v. Alien fight. The Aliens sadly are out numbered. And they don't have magic. Win for the Demons pretty easily.

demons by a LONG margin - and i say this as a fan of the aliens series (well.. the first 2, lets disregard the 3rd and 4th, and not even mention the AvP films)

It depends on if the alien can infect the demon. As the aliens take on some of the chacteristics of any host it gains it adult form in. At least in some comic incarations and the AvP movies (so I been told, not seen the movies yet)

Alien3 certainly set the precident for the "take on hosts characteristics" a bit - with the alien being more dog like than humanoid - and the pred alien of the AvP films backed that up... But given the demons nature, all it would take is one of them to get infected for the rest to learn what happens and from then on they'd kill anyone found infected - the joys of a chaotic alignment

"hes a threat to us all"
"oh well, snuff him out while he's in a weakened state - you've always wanted his position of power anyway"

even if they managed to 'infect' a more powerful demon, pretty much everyone around would pile in to whomp them to stop the spread of the danger. And theres no indication that it would take on any magical properties of the host...

but even in worst case scenario, with the alien hive infecting a large number of balors and mariliths, and taking on their magical properties, Demons still got it hands down. Wouldn't take em long to work out the queen runs the show, teleport in, severe the head and watch the rest be thrown into disarray.

And worst of all - if the demons are thrown into such disarray that the hive could infect so many of them as to 'win' - the Devil armies would swiftly plough in and mop up...

edit: although it would be more interesting to see how the equation ran if the queen was spawned from inside a powerful demon... could DEFINATELY level the playing field a bit, but theres no cannon evidence to say what would really happen there so anything is purely speculation

I'm wondering how the demons would detect the aliens. Unlike the humans in the Aliens world, Demons don't come with X-rays or bioscanners. They rely on magic for almost everything, which is also much easier to fool with other magic. (Compare Magic Aura vs Detect Magic/Arcane Sight) If you know your status as a carrier would get you killed, you might take pains to conceal it, even if it meant your backstabbing faction (which you have no love for) might lose in the end. The joys of a chaotic alignment :smalltongue:
