I'm playing in a 2-player campaign, and my DM is allowing the partial gestalt option (http://brilliantgameologists.com/boards/index.php?topic=5293.msg176410#msg176410) for the tier system (http://brilliantgameologists.com/boards/index.php?topic=5293.msg176407#msg176407). We're starting at level 1 with 40 point buy. I want to go Crusader//Adept for the defense and healing options. Any suggestions on feats/skills/maneuvers/gear? Starting gold is average, starting HP is max, flaws and traits are allowed.

Take as many flaws as he allows you to take.

Your devoted spirit maneuvers can cover healing. Use your adept spells for buffs. You get polymorph.

Any more specific advice? What flaws, traits, feats, gear, and maneuvers should I take? What should my stats be?

It's worth it to get Martial Study (Moment of Perfect Mind); then take Weak Will and Passionate, since you won't be using your will save anyway. Another safe flaw is Shaky.

Uhm, dumping Will-save for a save maneuver for a character with good Will-progression and Cha + Wis to Will when he's Wis-focused seems like a rather bad idea; he'll have naturally the best Will-saves in the party anyways.

Now, Ref, that can be dumped for the save maneuver since your Ref will suck anyways.
