View Full Version : Currently what are the most expensive and/or valuable M10 cards?

So thanks to the advice in my other related thread I have decided to not get the bad reputation of a "rare drafter", so I will make it an effort (unless I could actually use the card) to always pass every-other gold/rare.

So basically keep to in my first draft, and pass two in my second? Then always pass the golds which are passed to me?

However, I'd still like to pick ones that might make me my money back for the half I do keep (again, unless I could really use the card for the deck). So I'd love to know which are the most expensive and/or most sought after cards currently in M10.

p.s. And I could use the same for the latest three expansions as well, since one week they draft M10, and one week the draft one pack of each of the latest three sets. It's just that later today they will be doing M10.

Here's a nice list, take a look for yourself (http://sales.starcitygames.com//spoiler/display.php?&s[cor13]=5137&foil=nofoil&for=no&r_all=All&t_all=All&g_all=All&sort1=4&numpage=25&showart=1&display=1&startnum=0&numpage=25)

First, we already have a MtG thread (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=119615).

Second, any mythics you see, take. They're all worth playing, so you're not really rare-drafting (well, as long as you play some of them). Any dual land (a rare land that makes two colors of mana) is pretty valuable and worth picking. Ball Lightning is worth money too.

Rancored Elf over at MTGS forums runs a card store, and he always posts the top sellers of each set.

Sphinx Ambassador is a bomb in Limited; any beefy flier is worth running. Surely you mean Mirror of Fate (http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=193878) (even though it's rare) or Lich's Mirror (http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=174818)?

I was assuming he meant value in terms of which cards will be worth something after the Limited match is over. Sphinx is terribad for constructed.

Oh the complete irony.

Yesterday I pulled a holographic Sphinx Ambassador. :smallfrown:

At first I was like "Whooo Hoooo!!!!", but then I remembered your post. Udder crud price-wise on ebay.

Played three drafts that day, and it was a total loss money-back wise. I enjoyed myself though, but I am afraid it might not be something I can afford to do regularly.

p.s. Oh, and thanks for the links. I tried memoriing them as best I could, but sadly none of the listed cards came my way.

Well, did you take the foil Sphinx anyways? It's pretty awesome in Limited in any case. It'd probably win you some matches. :smallamused:

A foil mythic has got to be worth something, even if it is crap.

...Right? (that's really an awful card...)

Anyway, we should probably move this conversation to the main Magic thread.

I did already link it. No one listened though... :smallfrown:

Anyways, yeah, Sphinx foil is, according to MOTL, $1.50.

MOTL?

And such a bad joke it was. Foil mythic, and only $1.50...

Uh, we really should take this to the main thread for MtG.

Also, MOTL is the Magic Online Traders League, basically the best way to price out cards ever.
