Quick question: What monsters live in swamps, marshes, or similar terrain (temperate or cold, not hot)? I'm specifically looking for those with hides or skins which could be used to make leather. Ones from the original monster manual are preferred, but generic mythical beasts, real world animals, or homebrew monsters work too.

Crocodiles, Dragons, Hydras, Lizardfolk, Manticores, Snakes?

This (http://www.penpaperpixel.org/tools/d20monsterfilter/) might help.

From Core, Dragon Turtles, Gray Renders, Hydrae, Krenshar, Naga, Owlbears and Dire and Razor Boar are all appropriate for making leather out of.

My muliwai live in marshes, but they're not really conducive to being worked into anything.

Most creatures can be used to make leather from. Not all are of appropriate size. This link has a ton of critters to go through. (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=72683)

Any of the hags might work - I'd suggest that annis-skin boots make for a heckuva fashion statement.

Sounds like a good way to get cursed and/or hunted by the rest of the coven.

Bullywugs live in marshes. They're fun low-level beasties.

Don't know about skinning them, though.
