A turban isn't a hat, it's a headgear that's tightly wrapped around one's head.... It won't fall off because you've been propelled in a general direction

Okay, I'll give you that, but why is it that the turban just stays the way it is instead of unravelling itself into a sheet of cloth like it usually is when it is removed?

This doesn't appear to be that. Based on how high it was on his head and the general shape, this appears to be a hat shaped like a turban.

Either that, or it hasn't noticed gravity yet (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0437.html), and still thinks that it is being worn.
